Anyone Have Baby Hit Milestone Early?

I love to hear stories about early crawlers, walkers or talkers (or anything like that!)

My Marco has hit EVERY milestone early! He was 2 months rolling over, 4 months sitting alone and 6 months crawling! At 8 1/2 months he took his first steps and now at 9 1/2 months does not crawl anymore, it is walking all the way! I love that he is so advanced in the motor department, but it sure is harder to keep up with him! Timo didn't take his first steps until 14 months, and I didn't realize how good I had it!
He is babnling all the time, and says no no no no, but that is it. He will do So Big though!

"Brandon" is saying a lot for his age. He has a vocabulary of 15 words and today said his first sentence "Where is it?". I was looking for his bottle which I knew had only a few minutes ago and kept saying "Where is it?" and he was helping me look saying "Whaz-iz-eh?"

THERE ARE EIGHT DIFFERENT WAYS YOUR CHILD CAN DIE ON A CORDED WINDOW TREATMENT
Read "How Safe Cords Kill" at www.pfwbs.org

THREE CHILDREN HAVE STRANGLED TO DEATH SINCE ANGEL DIED ON 8/11/09.
Brandyn Coppedge died on 9/11/09. Rosie Smith died on 9/30/09 and Thapelo Kwofie died on 11/1/09. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is no longer recommending safety kits. They are now recommending that anywhere children live or visit should be free of corded window products.

A who has gross motor delay's started crawling at 6 mths!!! So much for him having delays!!! The physical therapist thinks by his 1st bday he will be done with her. He has been pulling up since before he was 7 mths old and cruising around the furniture; I am not ready for him to walk yet. He just turned 8 mths old.

No, I am convinced that late walkers are the way to go. Once they are mobile, life as you know it is over! I can't even take Marco to the store anymore, because he just wants to get down and walk! Do you know how difficult it is to allow a 9 1/2 month old to walk around the grocery??

My oldest son was always advanced. I wanted him to slow down, but he hasn't yet (and he's now 6). He sat by himself by 4 months, took first steps at 7 months. He was reading by age 2 (not sure how he knew how). He could also tell time before age 2, I remember him begging for a watch so he got one for his 2nd birthday.

Now that he's in 1st grade, he's very bored. I really would have enjoyed him being a "newborn" but he was born looking and acting like a 3 month old.

My little one was a little early and had some catching up to do, so he was opposite. I got to experience the newborn stage a bit longer with him. He's completely caught up now.

I was a nanny for a little boy who had an amazing memory. He was also an early talker and had a great vocabulary. He also taught himself to read before age 2. Like you, I have NO IDEA how it happened. He loved books and I always read to him from birth. But I certainly never tried to teach him to read. He just had an amazing and natural curiosity for letters & shapes. He memorized the symbols for cars outside when we would go for a walk. He'd memorize types of trees we saw. He would bring up memories of things that happened 6 months before. I kept telling his mom to have him evaluated but it was her first child and she didn't realize how special this was. His mom was smart but not off the chart smart-the dad was average. She just thought it was normal. Finally, she took him to a friend of hers who was a pediatrician. She brought along these flash cards that have a picture on one side and the word on the other. The ped said "Oh, he's not reading. He just memorized the cards.". So, the mom wrote down some words on a sheet of paper in blue ink and the baby just read them off. The pediatrician was still convinced he was memorizing words but not actually reading.

My mom used to worry about him because she said it wasn't normal. That August (he was to turn two on 11/1), we were at a department store and my mother said "Michael, look at all the back to school signs" and he said "Grandmama, that doesn't say back to school! It says back to class!". My mother turned to me and said "It's creepy. Maybe he has a brain tumor or something. It's not normal". It actually REALLY worried her.

By the end of 3rd grade, though, things leveled off. He's an honor student and ahead with reading-but not bizarre-0 super advanced.

H has been pretty uniformly advanced---super coordinated, early walker, excellent fine motor skills. He's 28 months and is in a gymnastics/tumbling class---the teacher says he can do things most of the 4 year olds cannot.

Huge vocabulary and can recognize lots of letters now. I don't think he's quite at the stage of Kat-L's little charge, but he can tell you the words in most of his books----even when they aren't really concrete pictures. I think a lot of it's memorization, but he can do it on like 20 different books, on every page, so I am starting to wonder if he is recognizing words. We do read to him a lot, and we try to do interactive reading where we talk about the pictures in the book.

I cannot tell you how happy we are about it---his bmom's developmental delays and his bdad's intelligence level were of some concern to us.

Sydney seemed to hit every milestone early too. She was taking steps at 9 months and was full on walking everywhere at 10 months. Everyone seemed to be very impressed by this, especially since she is so tiny, but it is much harder. I wish she would have crawled longer.

This probably doesn't count

but one of my nephews picked up a toy tennis racket at 6 months and played full on "air" guitar and had never seen anyone play the guitar that his parents knew of!!!

Now he's 15 and is totally into music and can sing very well!

My other nephew (his brother) did that thing where the baby pretend reads but before he could crawl or walk. You'd be baby sitting for him and he'd be in the corner just turning the pages and looking at the pictures with this serious expression. And guess what, now he's a creative writing major at a top university!!!!

Music nephew was adopted (Colombia) and I'm convinced he has some kind of musical genetic memory.

Ethan is textbook on milestones and that's fine! I will say though he's SUCH a good eater! He'll eat anything I put in front of him with a smile!

I hit every milestone early, according to my mom.

Actually, when I was born, everyone came to see the "crawling newborn" in the nursery.

See, I had colic, and it had my tummy upset, so I would crawl around so much they had to raise the rails on my bassinet!

Once the colic was over 3 months later, I never quit crawling, and by 7 months, I was already trying to walk and I think I was fully walking by 9 months...beating my sister to the task (1.5 years my senior).

I have always had an advanced vocabulary as well.

When I didn't want to play, at 2 years old, I would say "I don't wish to participate in that activity". SERIOUSLY.

Mom thinks that must have come to me from the hours of trying to get me comfortable during the colicky phase watching Star Trek...she thinks hearing Mr. Spock's incredible vocabulary must have been where I got that. haha

Ditto with my boys. The first one was quick to do everything (still is). Second one seemed to take FOREVER, even though hew as always on track for his adjusted age.
