Heart Unexpected Twist!
Most of you probably already know that we were matched with a Birthmother who was due in January. Before she had the baby she had decided that she wanted to parent. Obviously we were disappointed with the news. I was still able to fly out to WA and meet her and actually be there to assist her during the delivery of the baby girl. What an amazing experience that was. I will forever cherish that time.
Since coming back to Texas we have remained in contact with the mom, hoping to be some sort of positive influence in her life. She is an amazing person. This week we heard from her that she has decided to go through with adoption. She asked if we would adopt the baby.
And so we begin! Next week we will be heading out to Washington to pick up our baby girl! Wooohoooo!
Of course it's complicated by the fact that the dad is at bootcamp in CA so getting his relinquishment may take longer and also the interstate compact. So I'll probably be in WA for awhile. But all of that is so worth it if it means we'll get to hold our sweet baby girl!! I can hardly wait!
Thank you so much for your support throughout this process. Life would be a lot less fun without such a great group of friends.

Thanks. Yeah, I have always struggled with the whole "the right baby will come" and "meant to be" stuff. But I am really at the point in my life where I can see that happening with this adoption. I am really feeling good about it!

We went through something similar, but the mother changed her mind again before we could go through with the placement. I tell you this not to rain on your parade, but to warn you to be cautious. The girl we were matched with had flip flopped in her decision several times.

I hope this works out for your family. I know the bond you already feel toward this baby.
