Hey guys,
Sorry I have been kind of MIA lately. We have had a lot of medical stuff going on. Spencer was born with undescended testicles. He will need surgery to bring them down. Then we got a referral for a head CT for him because they thought his soft spot was fusing. It is not! But, he will probably need a helmet because his head is very flat. Then yesterday we went for a routine visit to the cardiologist for Cameron. (There is a family history of heart stuff.) We found out he will likely need open heart surgery in the next few months. He has a hole in his heart that has not not closed. It is too large to leave it because it is messing up the pressures in his heart. So, I have been running from one appointment to the next and spending all my free time worrying... I lurk on here, just don't post a whole lot. I keep hoping to find some god news on here. Fingers crossed for everyone.

Marci- Wow that's a lot going on. I will keep Cameron and his little heart in my prayers. I can't imagine how scared you must feel. The helmet should be pretty easy for Spencer. Carson was born with club feet, so at 2 weeks old he was put into casts on both legs from top of leg to toe. He had them removed every week and new ones put on for 4 months. The at 4 months surgery and a new set for 4 weeks and then at 9 months surgery and a new set for 4 weeks. So you might get some curious looks while your out, but these types of things can really improve the problem.
Try not to worry - who am I to say that - but anyways ![]()

Hi Girls!!!! My name is Jennifer and my DH and I have decided to adopt our 2nd child. We have a bio son who is 20 months and can not wait to get the ball rolling on the process of adoption. We had to go through many years of infertility treatments to get PG with our son so we had always said that we would adopt our 2nd since DH is adopted we wanted to "pay it forward" if you will. I am so happy to have found this site and start my Journey with all of you!!

Oh my goodness Marci, I hope everything will be ok. We have some friends who's son was born with a hole in his heart and some of the valves were in the wrong place but after surgery he is now a very active, healthy 3 year old! Keep us posted with things as you have time.

New here!
Hi. I have posted on other threads, but not on this one yet.
DH and I have 2 children, a daughter from Guatemala, and a son from Korea. We have been trying to adopt from Vietnam for the past 20 months, and are now trying to adopt domestically. We had a referral of a beautiful baby girl last Sept. We were 2 weeks from travel (in Nov), and things started to fall apart in her province. Our trip was first delayed, then we finally lost the referral in January. To say that we were heartbroken is putting it mildly! I had everything about that baby memorized from her photos, every little detail about her; she was very real to us. Time has passed, and we are now very excited about this new path! We are going thru our new agency's minority program. Our updated HS and all documents are at the agency, and this Monday, my DH and I will be meeting with them and taking in our profiles - once the meeting is over, we will be officially waiting!!! I'm trying to guard my heart a little, and I am telling myself that I'm okay with a year's wait, but I am REALLY hoping and praying it happens much sooner than that! It's been a very long road so far..... |
