Hi

Boy, there is a lot of us waiting. I never knew there was so many. I feel like I am getting into routine where I really don't feel like we're doing this. Then I think about it and think to myself "oh, we're in the process of adopting again" it seems weird. There are days that I do question if we're really suppose to be doing this again. There for a while we were seeing more situations and asking about them and even waiting to see if birthmom would choose us but here lately-nothing. I know it will happen when it's suppose to. Sami starts Kindergarten later this month and I do not know what I am going to do. I have been a SAHM with her for 4 yrs but since we are in the process again and I will stay at home then but with no baby I need to do something....

Hope you all have a good week and hope we see some good news on here soon!

Hey MomtoSami - Quick... get busy! Go on and get yourself all set to volunteer in the classroom with Sami's teacher one morning a week, on other mornings... take a class (painting? Bible study?), clean house, grocery shop, surf the forums. You will get so busy that suddenly you'll be matched! Well... that's MY plan anyway... sound good everyone?

Just jumping in to say that the agency has our profiles (or they should, I mailed them priority last Thursday), so I guess we are officially waiting. We're using the same agency as Marci, Chris, and a few others (Mandi?) and requesting full AA.

I really want to email her just to make sure everything's alright and to ask how many waiting families are open to AA, just to get an idea. I'll hold off as long as I can from bothering her - I pestered her enough a few months ago with all my questions.

I'm secretly hoping for a short wait (uh, aren't we all??) but telling DH and others it will be a while.

I thought my profile looked pretty good, it's simply done, but I thought it was nice. Now that it's done and there, I'm not so sure! Let the crazies begin again.

The clock is really ticking away for Vietnam. Sept 1 is the cut off day. My agency has in the past 2 weeks has given out four referrals for baby boys. I, of course, am waiting for my Layla. I'm second on the list for girls, unless the family ahead of me switched over to the boy only list or either sex list. I'm trying not to worry or feel disheartened, but at times it's hard.

Hey Jen, probably not what you want to hear, but...

My nieghbor just finished her home study and sent her stuff to the agency. She was told about 2 weeks ago that they have 10 families waiting that are open to race! Of course, I know of at least a few that are only open to one gender or the other, but still... It is great for emoms to have choice, but discouraging to aparents, huh?

Oh, and BTW, if you do check in, let me know what they say and I will pass any info I get from my neighbor on to you!!!

Jen & Marci

I just talked to them last week. There are over 30 waiting families with 10+ open to any race.

It's very hard and I expressed to "N" that I just feel like a # since we get zero info. Even when we call/email monthly it's the same answer "we'll call you with good news". It seems frustrating to be on the boards because everyone tries to have such a positive attitude and it makes me feel like pop because I feel sad about the wait.

Best of luck!

Mandi, I'm sorry you're going through such a tough spot. You've had a rough year so far with the wait, haven't you? Our wait for Josh was hard, very hard on me. Emotionally, after we had his referral was even harder because I went through an intense time of grieving for him and his first family.

I'm sorry. Hang in there, friend.

Mandi, don't feel bad, I am having one of those I feel like crying days today. I am just feeling so frustrated with the waiting and just with adopting again. There are somedays I just want to say forget it but I am trying to keep the faith and keep on going. E-,ail me if you need to talk.

Hi guys,

I hope I can chime in here even though this is our first adoption. We are also with "the agency" marci is using as well as several others. I just felt a sense of companionship when I realized others on the board are with the same agency we are. Someone else to commiserate over the wait with. We are open to race but are requesting a girl only.

Thanks for listening and I wish everyone the best of luck on their journeys!

Debbie and Jim

Thanks Jen & Susan! Most days I do fine since I keep busy with Carson. The next few months will be hard since we have 4 babies coming (friends/family). It's just hard not knowing how much longer.

"N" continues to tell me that she hasn't had waits longer than 18 months. But she also has more families than ever before and she won't stop accepting families. Most agencies will limit the # of waiting families to make sure no family waits too too long.

Praying for each of us!!!!!!!!! It will happen and when it does we will start to forget about how stressed the wait was and it will all be worth it!

I'm so glad that the school year is starting soon so that I can concentrate on work rather than focusing on adoption so much. I've really made myself crazy this summer which has resulted in me feeling depressed and helpless.

I'm sure I will still be thinking about the adoption during the school year, however I think that having work as a distraction will be a good thing for me. With our first child the waiting period was during the school year and I was less stressed than I am now.

I hope we all get calls very soon and we become the upbeat group of girls that we normally are.

PS. Has anyone been to a good movie lately? Some girlfriends and I are going out on Wednesday night and we are trying to decide on a movie.

Joanne

Yes, we need some good news to be upbeat about!!!!! Good luck going back to school in the next few weeks.

I wish I had some movie advice for you, but my husband has us on a strict budget so we are spending $0 extra cast. I so wish I was going to a good movie with you.

Joanne, I have not seen it but I think that movie something about "traveling jeans" in the title looks like a good chick movie.

"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" is what you're talking about. Haven't seen it, just the previews.

Anyway, I just jumped on to say that it's day 3 of waiting and I keep waiting for the phone to ring.

The crazies are getting to me already!
