haven't been here for awhile. just kinda needed a break form the whole adoption business, kwim?

i am soooo happy for chris - what a sweet angel - and mythoughts are with those waiting to hear about possible situations.

as far as we are going - things only keep getting harder. emom has been in and out of the hospital. cant get a very good idea of why. she is on some pretty strong pain and psych meds. she told me what meds they are so i called my dr and asked him what he thinks. he says the baby will be addicted when he is born and we will have some problems to deal with. not what i wanted to hear. anyone else have any experience with something like this? on top of that the baby will be delivered as soon as possible - probably mid june. we are looking at a nicu stay. at least the decision was made for emom to come here and deliver. so i wont be spending icpc/nicu time out of state. a good thing in all this mess?!

on a positive note - i ordered another dresser for the nursery. trying to fit both boys clothes in there. havent even looked for another crib, but i did buy some adorable outfits and got out the tiniest ones since baby will most likely be preemie. i will wash them when the new dresser gets here. i figure baby can sleep in a bassinet for awhile.

i really am happy for all of you. it helps me to think positive.

Hi

The situation we are being presented to we will not know anything till hopefully Tuesday. The birthmom is reviewing profiles as of Friday and then Saturday we heard it was down to us and another couple!! With it being Memorial day weekend it will probably be Tuesday before anything. I hope so, we leave for the beach next Saturday for a week.

Chris - what a little angel! sooo happy for you!! Congrats and can't wait to hear some more details!!!

Susan - sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. Down to 2! that's great news!

Mom2many - things have sure been rough for you for the past little while. sending you prayers and hope that once that little bundle comes along, thing will just work out and you will get a little down time to just be.

Joanne - have you heard anything. i may have missed something...

Marci - Do you have a recent pic of the boys to share and an update on life with the 2 boys!!!

As for us - no new baby news. It is getting green here and warm so we are happy about that. I have my garden planted and my flowers in, and my fruit trees are booming! yay! We just picked up our new 5th wheel trailer yesterday and are soooo excited. I can't wait to get it packed and get out camping! Father's Day weekend will be our first trip since we still have to have it inspected and registered as we are in Canada and bought it from the US. And on rainy days when DS is sleeping, I've been sewing away, making diapers and covers for Baby and more for DS.

Good thoughts/prayers/hopes to everyone to bring homw their babies soon!

Chris- Congratulations!!!! What a sweetie!!!

2many- I'm sorry you are having a difficult time, we went through our last adoptions together and this one seems to be a lot more stressful for you. My prayers are with you.

snaps-Welcome, and I hope you get some good leads soon.

As for us we are trying to relax so we went to the family lake house for the weekend. It was not relaxing though, all I could think about is how unprepared we are. We have no girl clothes, crib, diapers, formula and the baby's room is still an office. I was planning on using summer break to get it transformed to a nursery. They will be viewing our profile on Tuesday, so I hope we hear something by tomorrow evening. Until then I'm a ball of nerves, I don't think I would be this nervous if the baby wasn't already born and I thought there would be a waiting period. However, it would be a wonderful blessing if we had a baby girl in our home within the next few days!

Joanne-

Don't worry about a thing. We did have an extra crib, but we still don't have a dresser, and her room is still an office! And it probably will be for a while yet. We shopped for clothes and diapers once we went to pick her up. In our case the hospital was also wonderful about providing us with formula, diapers, and anything else we needed so that we didn't have to run out to the store right away.

Best of luck to you! I will be thinking of you all day tomorrow!

Hi

Joanne, we are in the same boat! We are hoping to hear Tuesday about the situation we were presented to last Friday. We don't have anything ready or bought anything and it would be a quick pick up for us as the baby is in our home state and already born!

Wishing you luck! Boy, there sure have been some girl babies here recently on the list

Oh, I was so glad to see a picture of Chris's baby! She reminds me so much of how tiny V was!!! I am hoping to hear something from our agency soon. We've been waiting a whole month now! Of course last time we waited for 19 months......

I'm so anxious for both of you today! I will be checking in often and thinking of you ALL day!

Kamari had her first Dr. appt. today. He said she is perfect. He was so surprised to see us with a new baby girl, but happy for us too! I think he thinks we are NUTS! Then I took Kamari to my office to work out my upcoming schedule. She was a little angel and everyone loved on her. Now I need to get some major cleaning and organizing done before our first homevisit!

Good luck Joanne and Susan! Can't wait to hear great news!

You know, for my little ADD mind, this thread is nerve racking to follow with everyone posting about different things! But it's fun, I'm not really complaining.

Again, Chris...I love, love, love little Kamari's picture. So sweet!

We FINALLY have our homestudy update scheduled for next week. The agency we are going to be using (not our h.s. agency) wants me to send our profiles now before we get our update done - she says they are needing more families, but also said we can wait.

Apparently, I can put together a dossier just fine, but a profile stresses me out! I'm working on our letter and have went through all our pictures and sorted the ones that I will definitely or maybe use into a file folder. A very sweet Mama from here sent me her profile as a sample, and it has been so useful! Once I get it done I will be so relieved!

We are in NO way ready for a quick placement, although in theory we could make it work. We want to move our bedroom downstairs to put new baby's bedroom upstairs with Josh's. First I need to clean out the spare room, then redrywall a wall, then paint...good grief! It's really not that big of a deal if it doesn't get done now. DH is adamant about no babies in our room. We'll see.

I am convinced new baby is a girl, I don't know why.

Hi

Nothing for us yet. We have not heard anything today whether a yes or a no. I have been doing so well these past several days but it seems here in the last little bit I am hitting rock bottom with this. We just want to know bad or good and get this behind us. It's just so frustrating!

Thanks for listening girl's

no news yet

NO news yet. As of 10am this morning they had not received the profiles yet. Hopefully they get there this afternoon.

I cleaned out ds room today and packed up his clothes that no longer fit. Then I went and ordered new bedding for his big boy room, picked out paint colors and hardwood flooring for his new room. And I picked out new furniture for the future baby. I'm going to wait on ordering the furniture because I have a masculine or feminine choice, so I need to see what gender the baby we get is. I'm going to just reused DS baby bedding for the new baby because it is gender neutral.

Tonight I'm going to start painting DS new room and get a baby bag ready just in case we get a call to come pick up the baby. Whether or not this baby is ours, it will be nice to know that we are ready for when we do get the call for our child.
