Dream
I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamed I was some where with my husband, mom & dad and my cell phone rang and it was a man who said "we have a match for you" and I was like "really" and it was hard to understand him, he had broken English and he was giving details and the phone kept breaking up and my mama kept coming in to ask me something and it was an awful conversation. Through all the distraction I was able to get some info but the dream ended before I saw the end result-heehee.
Guess I'm hoping to much and waiting on that phone to ring ![]() Have a good weekend girls! |

I was "outed"
I have let my closest friends at school know that we are planning for #2. I also let my principal and immediate supervisor know, just because I know it can be helpful to plan ahead (in a general sense) for staffing needs. I told my HR about it just because she asked me a direct question about whether Jeff and I were "done with one." But I told all of them I'd rather keep it on the DL.
But clearly it was time for everyone to know because I got "outed" yesterday in the staff lounge. My HR asked what A's full name was- then asked what names we were thinking of this time around. All the office staff were in there - the mouths opened, one of them squealed. Then my HR realized what she had said. She was sorry, I know, and though it wouldn't have been my choice to bring it up to everyone until the fall when school starts again,to be honest, for the laughs value you can't beat HR making the faux pas. Everyone was excited and positive. The only down side is the inevitable questions. In fact, to be fair, I had just been talking about how I try to find ways to convince myself this is going to be real and wondering how it would be different to be pregnant. Well, I guess I'm "showing" now. (But if I hope I don't really have to start wearing maternity tops- I'm not sure eating for two is the best idea for the pre-adoptive mother). Sissy |

Ahhhh, well, you know, the thing about adopting mommas is that their labour IS oftentimes, much longer than 9 months. I'll add as well, that even though I've never been pregnant, my suspicions are that the labour is much harder to endure as well!!!!! LOL
Congratulations and my best to you!!! Sincerely, Linny Last edited by Linny : 05-16-2008 at 09:03 PM. |

Linny - Agree (the long wait, the unknown, the expense, the waiting for TPR, the unknown.....)
A rude comment someone said to me a few weeks back... When stating that we didn't want our profile shown to an emom due end of Nov because the wait is too hard and the risk is too high, the person responded "Well that's gestation". I couldn't believe my ears...this coming from someone in the adoption field. Well I quickly responded "no, if it were gestation then there wouldn't be any risk or unknowns because I would be having my baby and wouldn't have to wonder if I were going to change my mind". So while I'm sure that physical labor is hard - I KNOW that choosing adoption (both for the emom and amom) is even harder and the emotional labor cannot be described in words!

Hi
Well, we came in tonight and there was a message on the machine about a situation and were we interested in being shown. We called back and talked and the profile will go out tomorrow and the emom will be looking at them by the middle to end of the week! So we have all week to be on pins & needles. I tell you everytime my stomach gets to hurting and I cannot stand it. I am going to try my darndest to not focus on it so much.

Hip Hip Hooray!!!!
Well, I thought this thread needed a little excitement, so here it is:
Chris (Chrisandaaron) got her call today! Baby girl born today! They are headed there to meet her. Mom cannot sign until Friday, so it is legal risk right now. Keep them in your thoughts that all goes well and they can bring their daughter home Friday afternoon! Chris is a little busy and will post when she can, but I will keep you updated if I hear from her!

Question
Ladies, we will be presented to the situation I posted about at the end of the week and if we happen to get chosen it will be a "quick" come get the child. We just happen to be in the same state that the baby is in so there would be no flying.
My question is what would I need to take and get together in a hurry? I have never had the opportunity to have a baby so I need advice on things needed quickly. I know the basics and such. |
