Twins????
Yesterday I had to give a speech at our Mother-Daughter Banquet about being a mom in 2008. 2 hours before my speech I get a call from our agency about showing our profile to an emom of TWINS?? AAahhhhh! Of course I forgot to ask all the cruical questions (fees, insurance?). The SW wasn't available when I called back so I had to pass it off to DH to call her back. To make a long story short we declined. The fees would have been DOUBLE and emom wasn't due until September. (We've had a bad experience with a long match before).
BUT..... SW did tell DH that she would be showing our profile to another emom (TODAY) that is due in July! Wow, no calls for 2 months and then a double whammy!P.S. Thanks Marci for listening to my craziness when I was driving home last night and couldn't post!

Chris - So exciting!!! We got a call 2-3 months ago about twins and had to decline because the fees were DOUBLE. That just seems silly. Good luck with the opportunity tomorrow.
We haven't heard anything yet. I know they were scheduled to show the books yesterday to emom and they had to have an interpreter so I was thinking they might know something early this week. I was going to wait and call till the end of the week, since I always feel like a pest when I call our agency. But I broke down and just sent an email asking if they could let us know either way. So we aren't wondering all week or next week. Hopefully someone gets GOOD news this week.

I think you'll feel so much better getting a call either way. Waiting is hard enough but then knowing you are being shown and having to wait is even worse! I'll be thinking about you!
Our books have been shown at least once since April 30. Our agency only had 3 placements last month when they usually have a lot more than that. Our worker said that April is usually slow. Do you all know of months that there are more placements than others? I thought it was strange.

I haven't read through most of this thread (32 pages is a lot to tackle at once!), but I'm officially throwing my hat in the ring. I'm collecting paperwork and have the homestudy update scheduled for next month.

Jen - Welcome! DH and I have been married 13 yrs in June we have a son who is 20 mos old through the miracle of adoption. We have been waiting for baby #2 since Nov 07.
So, the agency responded to my email. Emom decided to parent. This is getting harder. For every up there's a down. Even my husband was disappointed, and he never expresses emotion. So Chris we need some GOOD news on your end this week!
