Yeah Marci!
I bought a lot of stuff last time. Dh was all into buying stuff too. I had clothes newborn to size 18m boy and girl. Got there to pick up our son and had to go buy PREEMIE clothes and diapers During the last big Wal-Mart clearance we bought a bunch of girl stuff just in case. I have been good about not doing anymore shopping lately. However, I did just have a friend give me 6 boxes of cute 2T-3T clothes for my boys. It was Christmas!

Mom 2 Many- As much as I don't want to say this I will. Be careful. It is always when we think that everything is going perfect that it falls apart. I don't know the stats, but we did work with a bmom that was placing for the 3rd time and she did change her mind and parent. Actually, she made an adoption plan for the same baby at birth, at 3months, and at 8months and changed her mind each time. I hope things go well for you, but do guard your heart a little.

Marci -

Well I'm glad you book is being shown. I hope that you will hear something soon, so you don't go too crazy.

It just seems like you can get answers out of **N** at the agency. I haven't heard that there are 30 families waiting. Even more reason for me to be stressed!!! I just feel like we are going to wait forever! And what really stinks is that if we had more money we wouldn't have to wait so long cause we could work with other agencies.

I haven't started buying anything. The first time we only waited 2 weeks until we were matched and then I started buying. But now I'm afraid I'll "jinx" us if I buy something. silly, I know.....

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Our new social worker called today. She is coming on the 12th to do our homevisit for our update. She did say one thing that I loved loved loved. She said, "Before I come out, I'm going to send out all your references and medical stuff so we can get this done!" Our last update took forever so I feel like we're off to a good start on this one!

I am all ready for baby, pretty much. I have a bag packed and waiting. I bought 2 cute girl outfits, just in case. (Dh caved when I agreed to give them away as gifts if we end up with a boy.) Cameorn is still so young that we have pretty much eveyrthing we need for a baby. We are going to my sister's in a week and a half for my nephew's birthday. We will take her crib then so we will have 2 cribs. (Of course, I am sure as soon as we get home with it, Cameron will decide he is finished with his...) I even have one thing of formula and diapers!

Last time we got the call on a Thursday later afternoon and left that night. Not a lot of time, so I am prepared this time!

Mandi- Hang in there. I think you got lucky last time. I know 3 months seems like forever, but it really isn't very long in the world of adoption.

jj-That is great that things are going to be moving along. I don't understand why homestudies take so long. It's just a matter of the SW putting everything together on the appropriate forms.

Marci- Was there anything that you couldn't have lived without last time or something you were really glad you took? I'm wondering because I don't have anything packed, but I'm not too worried either. We had to leave quickly to get Troy, but he was in the NICU for a few more days so we had some time to shop while we were there. I did get my infant carseat ready and couple pj outfits washed, but that is pretty much it.

Hi

What do you ladies pack in your bag that you have ready?

I have bought a little bit of stuff, to good of deals to pass it up. I was at Target today and they had a lot of stuff on clearance so I couldn't resist but didn't get a lot though. It's just hard for me to realize that we are in the adoption process since nothing is happening.

emom is still sick. throwing up - and she is 19 weeks. high blood pressure, not sleeping, not eating. she was sent to the hospital and had to have iv's for several hours. dr says she needs to eat better. she was VERY depressed today. crying on the phone - and this is not her. she is usually very strong. ugh - i told you this is going to be a long wait. oh yeah - i sent her some money for maternity clothes and she ended out buying food and gas for her car. like i said - ugh.

As for the maternity clothes, could you maybe send her a gift card to a Maternity store in her area?
Keep us posted!

My phone rang....

Our books are being shown tomorrow for a baby girl! I also just found out our books are out on another situation that I didn't know about.

I don't know when we might hear about either one, but I don't expect it will be tomorrow.

I'm not as giddy and nervous as I usually am when we get these calls. Is this a good sign or bad? I didn't get too excited when they initially called about our son (we had had so many fall through), so maybe it is a good sign.

To make the day even better it is the 2 year anniversary of the day we met Troy!

We told them we are open to either sex, but they know we would really love a girl. Our agency director is cute, since we have 2 boys she wants us to have a girl too!

Chris - I'm so anxious for you! I hope that you hear something today!

We have a baby boy and would love a girl too! but we are open to either gender, of course.

We just sent paperwork yesterday for an adoption grant - If we can get some additional financial assistance we could work another agency whose fees are more than our current budget. I'm not sure how likely it would be that we get any grant, but we'll see. I guess we will know something in 1-2 months.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
