Chug Chug Chug!
This rollercoaster started up hill again this AM! I woke up to my DH giving me my ringing cell phone telling me it was one of our agencies. First she says on our paperwork where it said County, I put US...oppps! Then she says she's calling be about a birth mom that just went into labor!!!!!! I said SURE! submit us. Then she asked if I wanted to hear about the situation
 I said well sure, but if you're calling, you must know it fits our specfications! It sounds like a great situation with only one exception...expectant father is planning to contest the adoption, but he's in jail long term! We decided to go for it, but I am going to call our social worker ans ask what she thinks...Anyway, if you could send positive thoughts and prayers our way, we would REALLY appreciate it!Take Care everyone!

Congrats! No kidding... I just learned first hand this week how much of a rollercoaster this journey can be. I hope that you have a baby in your arms very soon!

What a great way to wake up. I would guard my heart a bit though. The "birthfather in jail contesting adoption" is why our recent placement failed. He wrote letters and had court appointed attorneys file legal action contesting the adoption, all from his cell. We rode it out for a bit (and spent $4K in legals we weren't expecting) before the courts decided he had a legal right to baby if expectant mom wanted to relinquish her rights. Baby was placed with his mother pending his release from prison (no less than 6 years from now). That's the system for you. This was in California, so hopefully your state has better laws. Good luck!
