Official Pity Party :( Come on in....

Hi everyone,
Ever just have one of those days? I'm feeling very down today. We haven't even been shown since we've been approved. This waiting is just the pits. I always had in my mind that "by Christmas time" we'd at least know something. Guess that's not going to happen for us.
It just seems like everywhere I read someone else is being matched. Why not us?

So I am going to have my sad day and then try to pick myself up, move forward and enjoy the Holiday season.

Anyone else wanna join my pathetic party???

Julie

I'm sorry you are having a down day!!

I'll join in the party, but only if there is food. Chocolate is good too.

And no...I'm not having a bad day really...just like to crash parties!

LOL! Yes, there's plenty of chocolate and coffee. Tonight the coffee miraculously turns into wine.
You can stay as long as you don't say "In God's timing". That's forbidden just for today. (Wink)

Sorry about your terrible, very bad, no good day. I know waiting stinks, we're waiting as well for our 2nd one. It's only been a little over a month but it seems like forever.

Hopefully this will cheer you up....it's only 7 more days until the shortest day of the year. Almost 15 hours of darkness and only 9 hours of light. Have I mentioned it's really cold where I live and we're supposed to get 3 - 5 inches of snow just in time for me to go back to work on Sunday.

Glad I could bring some whine to your pity party...anybody got the cheese????

Gee thanks! 15 hours of darkness, no wonder I feel down. LOL It's currently 14 degrees here and the wind is howling. Hope you drive safely on Sunday and have time to blow out your driveway. Makes me glad I'm a girl.
We are supposed to go out to dinner tonight and I think I will skip the steak and just have one (very big) Grasshopper!!!

You know Momtonick....snowblowing is actually a wonderful stress reliever and quite fun. Just get into your nanook of the north parka, good warm gloves the size of a michelin tire, your moon boots (everyone saved theirs from long ago, yes??) and go blow all those frustrations away!!!

Just don't do it during that 15 hour span of darkness. You might end up making a cheese head drawing in your driveway.

Ed...if it's only 3-5 inches, you can do this. Eat more cheese and you'll be fine!!

Crick, I thought your sign said "WE LOVE MARTINIS" which is of course how I passed the "wait" after we were HS approved.

MomtoNick, I know how much the waiting stinks. I had plenty of pity parties myself. I remember our agency saying that a lot of times there were not a lot of matches/placements around the holidays (not sure why that is?).

Hope the wait is not much longer!

I would like to join the party, but just for one day. We have been waiting for almost 3 months, and have been approached on 7 babies. None of them worked out. One we turned down because the fees were higher than we could afford, one we turned down because it was a 14 month old and we want a newborn, two didn't pick us, one was a match that decided to parent as we were on our way to pick up the baby, one was a match that failed because her tribe stepped in and wouldn't allow the baby to go to someone outside of the tribe, and this one that we are waiting to hear on is looking like she is going to parent (she has had the profiles for a week and a half with no decision, and she is due in 2 days). I just looked at another forum that I contribute to, and a person that has been waiting for a month was just matched to a baby that they will pick up on Monday. I just wanted to cry, which I have done already today. I am happy for her, I really am, but when is it our turn?? I am glad that we are being shown, but I am tired of the "not this time" calls. I am so ready for OUR baby!!!!

I'm RSVP'ING to this party too. We are on day 5 without power or heat. It is 42 degrees INSIDE our house and it is supposed to start snowing again tonight.

And I haven't seen my little boy in 4 days, as we sent him to the grandparents until the lights come back on.

I like my martinis a little dirty, please. 3 olives.

You are all making me LOL and I'm supposed to be having a sad day, remember? Cheesehead huh?
And BTW, I thought it said Martini's too!!!

Crystal, great big hugs to you. I can not imagine. I'm glad you shared your story with me. It sure puts things into perspective for me. I will be praying for you tonight. (And maybe have a 2nd grasshopper in your honor!)

I am so in on this pity party! I have been feeling it lately. When is it my turn??? HUH? When?

Crystal - I, too, am tired of hearing about someone who has been waiting for a "short" time and gets picked so quickly, while I am still here waiting. Not that I'm not happy for them, I am! I just want a little of the same.

We have been waiting for well over a year this time. And I am feeling a little down about it. This last month we redid our whole profile - new letter, new pictures, etc. I'm not sure that it needed to all be redone, but it gave me something to do.

I just want more kids! - I don't care where they come from, who they are. I just want to hold them and play wiht them! Soon! And my two children are anxiously awaiting them, too. I usually am fine, but today has been rough emotionally. I am feeling very down.

And while I was writing and posting - HBV showed up with her "no power" story. Guess I'll quit whining. I at least have power. And my two kids are with me.

Hey... How are you online with no power? Guess you have to save the generator power for the necessities, like hanging out with us!! We feel honored.

No, I'm at work, where we have power. Home is a whole other very unpleasant story.

And I am actually a little scared of the whole generator deal---several people have died this week using them improperly. Lots of house fires as well from candles and fireplaces---one of our friends died yesterday, wife is in a coma---smoke inhalation.
