Yea, My husband wants more kids!!!
My husband and I adopted our son from Kazakhstan in 2005. Almost right away I wanted to adopt again. My husband has always said no. The other night we were out to dinner for our anniversary and we had a heart to heart talk. He said he wanted one on two more kids but the only thing that was stopping us was the money. We don't care where the child is from we are just looking for adoptions we can afford. I guess I have a question did the cost of a particular program have an influence on your decision?

Cheaper!
We went through the foster care system because there is almost no cost. We love all our children bio, adopted or foster, it doesn't matter. Everyone needs to be loved and many won't look to the foster system because they think they are all bad kids. But at least through the foster system we get to know our children before we decide to adopt. Keep an open mind and God Bless!

There are several US agencies that do domestic infant adoptions for fees less than $15,000 and don't require most of the fee until placement. Someone on the boards has a list (sorry, but I don't remember who). Figure in the adoption tax credit and that is not too bad IMO. And foster/adopt is definitely a good choice if you have the heart for it. Considering the cost only proves that you are a great parent who is just looking out for your family

I know a lot of people get upset that AA adoptions cost less than CC. I have another view point. If it had not been for the price difference, I would have probably never considered AA adoption. We began some very serious discussions when we realized it would be less costly. We DID NOT adopt outside our race purely for financial reasons. However, we would probably not have considered it as hard had the cost been the same. I started researching to find out why the cost was lower and discovered there is a greater need for aparents of AA kids. In the end we felt that was what we were supposed to do.
So, point of the story, yes cost did play a part. Good luck! And Chris is right. Our total adoption was 15k and we will get the full almost 11k back through the tax credt. (Spread out over a few years of course!!)

We did two domestic infant adoptions and are now going through fc. I will say that the foster adopt experience has been much harder!! Baby A was not even 24 hrs old when we picked him up from the hospital. He is a joy and one of the cutest baby's around!!! But the "what if" is always there; it is like a big dark cloud hanging over us. He was suppose to be legally free before Christmas, but the county attorney has pushed things till after the first of the year. So just more time, in my eyes, for relatives to come out of the wood work. Some people we know have had wonderful experiences with no problems at all it just depends on what you are looking for. IF you are going to go f/a route go in with your eyes open and get your hands on as much info as you can.
