Our friends are finalizing the adoption of their 2 yr old duaghter next month. I want to start looking for a gift, but can't think of anything. Any ideas????

We got varoius gifts from picture frames to photo albums about family. Also something personalized with the new last name is nice.

We bought friends a gift certificate to have family portraits made. Of course, it was several families that went in together for that so they could have several nice pics made.

Remember to ask your friends if gifts are appropriate, some do and some don't. Of course I probably would, and I would probably get something "family" oriented. We have TONS of sentimental stuff...so I wouldn't (personally) give that because they might have a lot, but that depends.

Family oriented gift - maybe a gift certificate to somewhere, like a movie, or out to eat, or the zoo even!! I know I would have LOVED that! Even just a cool game or something they could do as a family...

Sentimental - Okay the best gift I got was what you call a "Blessing bowl" (google it). I'm not sure what you're "supposed" to do but basically it comes with a silver bowl, pieces of paper, and ribbon to tie the paper with. We all (my family / friends) wrote on the paper, then tied it up. I had them write thier dreams or anything they wanted for Cooper and then I will let him read them at Confirmation or graduation...havent' decided yet. I love this idea though and hope he will like it too...
