I guess I will start this thread as I cannot seem to find an existing one. I didn't feel like I would quite fit in with the Fall mommies, so here is a new thread for winter babes.

We received "the call" yesterday that we have been chosen by an emom due December 14 with a baby girl. We are thrilled!!! It is not official until we meet on Saturday, but we are pretty darn excited anyway!

This is our second adoption and if it works out, our son will be just 16 months older than his sibling. Wow! DH and I are preparing for mass (yet wonderful) chaos at our home!


So, anyone care to join me?

Yes, it is through the agency, so we'll be driving to OH. It is going to be a 3 1/2 hour drive which is about the same distance we drove for Tyler's birth and he was born here in KY, so not too bad.

I feel like I am talking to myself since no one else is in this thread, but I will update anyway.

I spoke with the pbmom yesterday evening on the phone and we are both looking forward to meeting one another Saturday. She is very different than my son's bmom in that she is outgoing and has a lot to say. As sweet as Tyler's bmom is, sometimes it was difficult to have a conversation with her because she is so reserved.

She told me she picked us because we seemed very family oriented and that we would treat this child as if she was biologically ours. I guess the pics of us with Tyler showed her how dedicated and just madly in love we are with him. She said she especially loved a pic we put in of Tyler and DH walking on the beach together.

Well good luck to anyone waiting to join me. I need some company! As I said before, I feel like I am writing to myself.

Yes, I am bumping my own thread because I am hopeful that there is someone else out there expecting a winter baby.

We will be about an hour north of Dayton.

And yes, Naomi is wonderful! We actually got "the call" from a SW on my cell phone while I was working. She left a voicemail and when I called back she was running a therepy session and couldn't fill me in on details yet. I immediately called Naomi begging to know more because my nerves couldn't handle waiting. She gladly filled me in on any details she could give and was so sweet and did not seem bothered by me. I am very happy we went through her!

Our meeting is today, so I will update tonight or tomorrow.

Again, talking to myself, but I wanted to update. Our meeting went better than we could have ever imagined. There was an instant connection between "J" (emom) and us. We talked at the restaurant for two hours, and could have sat there longer, but we needed to get home. She has invited us to any doc appointments we would like to attend and to be at the hospital for delivery. She said she needs as much support as she can get because her family and most of her friends are not supporting her decision to place and therefore are not apart of her life at this time. She seems very committed to her decision.

We also discussed names and decided that we want to do it jointly. DH and I had chosen a name (in the case that we were naming the baby) and she also chose a name. Our plan for now is to combine the names as the baby's first and middle names.

Hope someone joins me soon! It is getting lonely in here!

Your not all alone!! I've read every one of your posts. congratulations, it's so exciting. We are matched, but the baby is not due until the beginning of Feb. I'm getting to know ebmom, and hoping and praying!
