Perfect Baby Book

Hey everyone. I'm doing foster/adoption and wanted to know what everyone's opinion is on the perfect baby book for adopted children. I'm not the scrapbook type, as I have keepsake boxes, etc., so I'm looking for more of a standard style babybook geared towards adoption. Thanks in advance to those who offer opinions.

I don't know of a "perfect" book...but, there are definitely adoption ones out there!

Good luck and happy shopping!

I posted about this book a few weeks ago.

I was doing some 'training' in our shop with our staff and they showed me a new product they'd just gotten. I flipped through it and was really pleased with what I saw.

Here is a link to the product: My Family, My Journey :: Journals :: Books :: Adoptionshop.com - adoption books, gifts, announcements, scrapbooking, jewelry, cards, art & other adoption products

I'd be happy to share some more info about the inner pages, if anyone is interested. I'd have to do it on Thurs, when I go back into the office...

Feel free to let me know!

I'm definitely interested in learning more about the book. With the great possibility that we will be getting the 4 yr old, I'm trying to think ahead about these things.

Thanks in advance!

You can definitely find baby books specific for adoptions. I found ours at Hallmark. Adoptionshop has several, too, and it has the added convenience of not having to leave your house. Just do a search for baby books.

My baby book is callled "The Story of Me" it's a 3 ring binder so you can take out and add pages. There is an adoption "add-on" packet you can buy too with some cool pages in it (not all apply to every adoption) but I loved this book, plus it's really pretty with all different covers it can come with and fun! You don't have to be a genious to put it together either. Good luck!

Just google "The story of me" baby book...it should come up.

Thanks everybody! I've had my baby girl (fostering) for three weeks now and am jotting things down in a notebook, but I'd like to go ahead and start officially adding to a baby book for her. I'm so excited!

Good luck to all in your adoption journeys.

Babybookboutique

They have one specifically for domestic adoption, international adoption, or adoptions from Gladney.

It does such a wonderful job of meshing a traditional baby book with the adoption information. There's also a place for a letter from the birthparents.

There are places for pictures, but gives people like me who do not scrapbook a way to journal and include photos.

I take lots of pictures and use standard photo albums with the journaling space to keep all our photos. I do not have time to scrapbook, unfortunately.

If anyone has any other questions about the baby book we purchased, please let me know. The lady who sells them is super sweet.

HTH!

We found and love The Story of Me -- it has a great fabric cover and you can purchase insert pps for adoption that are cool. Actually, I wanted to make the cover personalized and copied it with a special quilted fabric, which was really easy, in case you sew. This reminds me that I need to update our dd's book, though! susan
