who has adopted a Caucasian baby?
I am just wondering if the majority of children adopted are bi-racial? We are wanting to adopt a caucasian baby but might be open to bi-racial too.
Just wondering the % of you that have adopted bi-racial vs caucasian... Thanks for the info!! And congrats on completing your adoptions... |

Like my husband and myself, my son is cc. He is actually Irish~ like myself. We adopted domestically using a lawyer. We matched two months after being homestudy approved and my son was born last June. The whole process took about 10 months. He is the very best thing that ever happened to me. There are babies of EVERY race who are placed for adoption.

Our two kiddos are caucasian. We were completely open to race but ended up being placed with caucasian babies both times. Actually all three times, but one placement failed.

I live in Alberta, Canada.
Here, the VAST majority of infant adoptions are caucasian babies. |

We adopted a healthy cc infant, we were with her at birth and she left the hospital with us. We finalized in Oct 06. Our process, from homestudy to placement, was about 10 months. It was only 13 months from when we decided to adopt.
We were open to bi-racial and would have considered any race. DH is a redhead, dd is, too (well, what her peach fuzz is so far anyway. lol) |

We adopted a healthy CC baby girl in August of 2006, 5 months after we finished our homestudy. We too were open to bi-racial, but were placed with our little angel who, we think, is just perfect!! Good luck on your journey!

Our DD is Caucasian and was adopted at the end of 2005. We were open to other races as well. Our whole process took about 9 months from homestudy to her birth and placement.

Our DS is full CC. Matched 1 week after agency profile went "live". He was born 3 months later 11/06.
Our DD's BMom found us (she used to work for me) and we were told our DD-to-be was full CC. She was born in 04/07 and is actually half CC and half Armenian! (We were thrilled either way. But, clearly "fun" post birth bfather drama we are having to deal with.) So my two sense are, if you think you family's fit is CC, then there is a CC baby out there for you. AND...be prepared that you won't know for sure until your little one is born. =) |

We were matched with a cc infant due August 8, we were just matched really early (January). We were chosen 2 months after joining the agency, so that type of waiting was pretty quick.
