There is something so beautiful in a thread of women speaking with such love and grace about the daughters they are raising. As if life is circling itself in it's own loving embrace. I'm truly moved and blessed. As I write this, my daughter..so new and bright at five weeks old, is sleeping peacfully in her swing. The pink of her cheeks aglow against the sweet little pink onsie she has on. Her little bunny feet sticking out from under the blanket I laid ontop of her-a field of poppies spreading out against soft purple cotton. I have dreamed of a daughter for so long. I sometimes think she must be a mirage-a fantasy of the heart. But, no she is real, she is here, she is mine. AHHHHH!!!!

What beautiful words you wrote about your daughter. It is easy to see why you love her so much. Congratulations.

Before I had a daughter I said "I am banishing all pink from the house. We will have only gender neutral clothes, toys, etc." It is embarrassing how little I knew myself. My daughter completely changed my views on the world, my family, my future, and yes even pink. She just looks so GOOD in the pink that I can't resist.
She is now playacting with her dolls and so many times a day she makes me smile or cry (with happiness). Yesterday she set her doll up in front of her and was reading to her. I can't even describe how glad I am to be a mommy to daughters.

So Kelcee is using the potty a little to go poo poo in it. I'm glad that we are finally starting to potty train.
She also goes in on the 31st for tubes in her ears. Thank goodness it is a long weekend and I can be with her. How is everyone doing these days? |

Eve's getting bigger by the minute I swear. She rolled over once and didn't like it so we're having a hard time getting her to do it again.
But she did learn how to raspberry over the weekend and it's so funny because for the last two mornings we've woken up hearing her pfffffting over the baby monitor. She even falls asleep doing it, she's so proud, lol. She also figured out how to push the button on her play gym to make it play music. It was a pretty big weekend. |

Nikki,
The time is going by so fast. I can't believe Eve that old already! Well, Kelcee is getting the tubes in her ears on Friday and I am getting nervous. I hate the fact that she can't have anything to even drink. She will be first and that means we have to be at the hospital by 5:30am. She is going to be double cranky when she wakes up. I hope it all goes fast. |

Denice,
I was wondering if Kelcee had gone in for tubes yet... You will all be in my thoughts on the 31st, though I am sure everything will go just fine. Brenda

Denice: I'll be thinking of you and Kelcee. My three year old neice had her tonsils out over the summer and I know how tough this is. I will say this, after watching her go through surgery and an ouchy throat, etc., kids are tougher than we think.
Eve is difinitely getting older. If these last five months are any indication of how fast the next 18 years are going to go it's a little scary. She did roll over a few more times in the last few days. Still not a big fan though. |

Kelcee had her tubes in last Friday. The recovery was great but within about 4 hours she was sick. Congested, mucous down throat, crying for hours, and so on.
She is much better and we will see if this helps. I will have to say she didn't get an ear infection with this, whatever you call it, though. |

Let me see what have we been up to?
Kelcee is finally tranistioning into preschool after a month of lots of crying from both of us. Boy, that is one of the hardest things to do. I have never seen her cling to me like she has been One a brighter note she is potty training really well. She uses the potty to pee pee and poop a couple of times a day. What have some of you other mommies been up to? |

Weeell, Eve has started giving kisses. She's very careful about it and it's so funny. She gets a serious look on her face and plants a hand on each of your cheeks. Then she turns your face until a cheek is facing her and plants a big sloppy kiss, lol.
Oh, she's also at the chewing on her toes stage and it's absolutely adorable, and very hard to keep socks on her. |
