I love it when....
I love it when my dd tells me "OK, your the baby & I'm the mommy". I pretend to be a baby crying and she hugs me & comforts me just like I do to her when she cries. She sings "Hush little baby" to me & covers me with a blanket.
I love it when she brushes my hair & tells me not to move cause she's going to pull my hair (exactly what I tell her) I love it when she vaccums with her play vaccum & tells my DH to lift his feet (just like I do) I love it when she hugs me & tells me that I'm the best mommy ever. I love it when she dances with her daddy and she "swings" under his legs (she was obsessed with "dancing with the stars) I can go on & on!! ![]()

Kelcee is into wrapping her arms around your neck from the back and kissing the top of your head. She now dusts behind me and is loving to sweep with me!

Ok I have to play :-) Kiddo is only 17 months but when she wakes up she cries out "mommie" (we recently stopped co-sleeping....mommie needed some rest after 1.5 years of sleep deprivation) And I come in and grab her, her blanket and her bottle (I know soon....we will be off the morning and night bottle soon) She wraps her arms around my neck and when I cuddle in bed with her she leans over and says "Muah" then plants a big ol' kiss on me.
She also signs for her "baby" I bring her baby over and she kisses it too, then holds the baby as I hold her. Very sweet, very fun. I love raising my little girl. I will be adopting another daughter soon, and while I will really miss parenting a boy I secretly hope my sister has one :-) That's what she and her husband are praying for.

Eve has started to wrap her arms around my neck when she falls asleep. She'll lay her head on my shoulder, stretch both arms around as far as she can reach and just hold onto my hair. Then she sort of hums along with me as I sing to her until she falls asleep.

Lately Natalie will follow me around wherever I go (to do the laundry, to the bathroom, into the kitchen, etc.) Not in a clingy way but just to see what I'm doing. I call her my "shadow" and I love that she's always with me
![]() I also love watching her take care of her baby dolls. She plays with them the same way that I play with her. She even smells their "piggies" and says peee-ewwww...LOL, just like I do to her. She loves to dance!! She's only 20 months old but that baby has got some moves! It's comical watching her chase our cat around the house....poor cat, LOL! Nat loves her and doesn't understand why she runs away. I melt when she hugs my neck and won't let go ![]() |

I was another person who thought I would never have a girl. I am SO not girly. I have pierced ears, but haven't worn earrings in 20 years. I don't get manicures, pedicures and I hate pink. I had lots of ideas of what I wasn't going to do with a little girl. I told everyone no pink and no calling her a princess. The day they placed her in my arms...the first thing I called her? Princess. We had packed a bag full of gender neutral clothes, but just one person asking me if she was a boy or a girl sent me to Target to find every pink and purple onesie that would fit her. She is now 4 months old and sports painted toenails and wears pink nearly every day of her life. I find that she allows me to express the girly-ness that I don't like for myself.

A,
I too am not a girly girl. Buttttttttt, Kelcee has more pink than I know what to do with. LOL What do you do when your precious little girl looks wonderful in pink?? Go with the flow I guess. |

Ditto with the girly girl stuff. I hate pink, I'm not fond of dresses and I DON'T cook. (As much for everyone else's safety as anything, lol)
I was a major tomboy and it won't hurt my feelings if Eve's the same way. But if she wants to wear a pink dress with layers of ruffles, I'm OK with that too. I want her to be her enough that I'll swallow my dislike and soldier on. On the other hand, she looks fantastic in blue so here's hoping. |

Oh my what joy it is to have daughters, they grow so gracefully even with many many spills of milk. They may stumble and fall, skid a knee, but there is nothing like it to see your baby girl look at you with those eyes of wonder. We see our daughters and God sees a queen.
We are raising His princess's and love it...

I just have to say I LOVE this thread. Reading everyones stories has me smiling from ear to ear.
My little one can be hard to handle at times, but she is oh so precious. Just last week at Wal-Mart, she was throwing a little fit and we passed by a mirror. She immediately stops whining and points at her reflection in the mirror and says " I cute!" LOL. Dh has been the recipient of some very glam makeovers lately. These are makeovers that only an eighteen month old can do.....A pink hairband, painted toenails (boy that was a mess!) and lots of costume jewelry. It melts my heart to see my macho husband proudly model Loren's creations.

Liz,
That is a very cute story. My husband too, is this burly retired Marine and he becomes this puddle of mush where my daughter is concerned. I do a lot of snikering. |

My niece was out this week visiting and Kelcee just a ball with her. Here is a picture of them together. She was enjoying mimicking her.
