Do girls develop an attitude earlier than boys? I ask this as mine has. Of course at this age it is so cute. We were stuck in traffic last night and she of course was having real problems with the car stopped but still in her car seat (she hates the car seat). Anyway, at one point she says to me "Bye-Bye" and so I say "Hello". She says "bye-bye", I say "hello", this goes on for about 3 minutes and of course the novelty wears off. Then I look back at her and she is sitting there with her arms crossed and kind of pouting look on her face. I couldn't help it, I asked her "What's the matter honey, do we have an attitude?" Of course the response is "Yes".

LOL! I don't know if they get them sooner that boys, but that attitudes are definitely there. DD is big on doing things herself, but when they go wrong it's ME she gets upset with. |

Nikki, our girls are very close in age and so I know exactly what you mean. Anytime it doesn't go her way or if anyone takes something from her playfully, the look goes right to me as to why aren't you taking care of this or why didn't you make it right.

YEP! You are describing my daughter, however, she is almost 3 yrs. old. It is getting challenging at time with their "attitudes".

OMG! My baby girl is almost 17 years old! but still my baby girl. I have enjoyed every minute of her almost 17 years so far. She grew up so close to mommy and I just adored hearing her voice and smelling her sweet baby smell. The bows and hats on her hair, combing her beautiful curls and shopping for girly-girl dresses and pretty shoes and sandals. Dance recitals and theater productions. The millions of times she told me "I vov you mommy" "mommy you pretty" I loved to see how she loved her grandma and how gentle she was to her baby cousins. She loved to play with her baby dolls but she would transform her self when she put her softball uniform on and became a little tomboy, although she always put her hair down on her softball pictures to make sure nobody thought she was a boy. Now I enjoy how she helps me with the forster kids and how very gentle she is with them to make sure they don't feel different. How excited she gets about her tennis tournaments and how she giggles with her best friends and how she texts me the whole time she's at the football games to let me know that the boy she likes is there and how handsome he looks and OMG, he said hi to her. I can go on and on about her. I just thank God for her every day. I love my little girl!

Thanks for sharing. I think we all are wanting to have those times but don't want our little girls to grow up to fast.

My thoughts exactly Denice. Thanks for sharing jjjjmom. That is why I have always wanted a little girl. Somehow I just knew I was meant to have a daughter and to have a relationship with her like I did with my mother.

That's exactly the kind of relationship I hope to have with my daughter one day. I wasn't that close with my Mom until I got older.
And as for the attitudes, I have to say that the one thing that was good about going on a vacation without DD is that since we've been home Mommy can do no wrong. Daddy on the other hand is a different story, lol. |

jjjjmom- I so want this with my daughters, yet I dont' want them to grow. If they could only stay little for just a little while longer.
This evening, both girls were helping me with laundry, they pulled out a couple of bras, put them on, then came into the kitchen where I was washing dishes, and my 3 year-old says: "Look mommy, we are wearing your breasts!"
