Confused

Hi everyone! It is so nice to have a forum like this to turn to for help and advice. My husband and I are close to having our homestudy finalized (domestic adoption). We have one problem that has crept up. My Live Scan fingerprint results from the DOJ/FBI have not been received by the agency we are working with. I have called the DOJ's automated telephone line and it says that all of my fingerprint results have been sent to "the requesting agencies". I am confused. The agency I am working with states that they have not received any such results. I don't know what to do? I am confused? Who should I turn to for help? Anyone out there who has experienced this problem? I completed my Live Scan fingerprints in Aug. '06. We are so close to finalizing! Any advice on what we should do would be greatly appreciated. Also, feel free to PM me. Thanks!

Does your agency have any numbers they can give you? What do they do if they have questions? I assume you had this done through your police department, if so can you call them and see if they can give you any advice? Just a thought.

Thanks - Kelcees mom! Yes, we did our fingerprints by our local PD. Our agency asked us to go back to the PD to have prints re-submitted, but the PD says that the prints went through with no rejections so they cannot re-submit. Frustrating!

Maybe the FBI has a record of where they sent them and possibly it went to the wrong agency if they were doing several that day?? You would think they keep a log of where they send prints.

Hope this helps

I had a similar problem that my results had not been received by my agency. I sent an email through the FBI website: Federal Bureau of Investigation - Criminal Justice Information Services Division - FBI Identification Record Request and someone got back to me the same day. In my situation, my packet had not been opened yet, even thought it was marked "adoption". At that point, it took about two weeks after they "found" my packet until my agency received the results.

Hope that helps! :-)

Call your congressperson

Really .... We had trouble getting them back for my husband. My homestudy agency advised against contacting the DOJ because I might find myself at the bottom of the pile if we did.

I called my congressman's office. They have a staff of people whose job it is to resolve issues for their constituents. They placed a call and the fingerprints magically appeared within a couple of days.

Good luck.
