I was a mess while pregnant and then after my son was placed, but when the time came and he was born I don't know, there really was no outward emotion there - I felt badly for a long time that I didn't cry when he was born.

I never once showed D (or J) how distraught I was about placing. During visits pre-placement, I was happy, talkative and smiling. As soon as they would leave, I would break down.

I have a vision of DD's birth mom that will never leave my mind. After our visit around the time of DD's birthday, we were dropping of DD's birth family. I was a bloody mess and DD's birth mom was comforting me (do you see a pattern here). When we were driving away, and they were walking down their driveway, I looked back and saw DD's birth mom literally crumple to the ground (I am crying again as I write this).

I still feel guilty.....guilty because my happiness has caused them so much pain. I know it was their decision to place, but it still hurts.

I remember meeting my babe's mom and watching her hold her/our son. She had tears in her eyes, and watching her, so did I. I could see her pain.
