Adoptive parent chat notes from last night
Well those that missed last night you missed a rather interesting night.
We were joined by bajj, ocracoke, Rjsmom, thediva, emster, terrirose, BonnieLynn and Kelceesmom. The conversation first started with how can 5 and 6 year old boys be sweet (per bajj) on girls. We thought boys at that age didn't like girls. Diva joined us and we wanted to know how her son was doing since he had surgery at the beginning of this week. We are happy to tell you that he is doing well (2 year olds rebound great) as is diva. However, the discussion continued to discuss the male anatomy, (is it spelled correct...lol) or should I say the surgeries our little boys have already endured on those particular parts. No more needs to be said. Bajj said no more discussing body parts and emster immediately went into what gifts do you make for Christmas. Short discussion. There was a brief discussion about the tax credit and how many of us want to adopt again but most of us would need to win the lottery first. Bajj said it could be as soon as the first of the year for her...yeah for you! A brief talk of did your kids use pacifiers or did they suck their thumbs. Rjsmom asked if emsters 7 month old (who is starting to really get around) if she had tried an exersaucer. Terrirose then asked about the jumping swing for the doorways... Many did express how they had wished they had found this forum before they started the process for the support that it offers and all of the great people part of this forum. Brief conversation how quickly the kids can learn to climb. Kelceesmom and Rjsmom both discussed how there kids (17 months old) have started to hid items like remote controls, watches, and other small items. They have yet to find many of those small objects. We discussed what kid shows do our kids like to watch and rjsmom said Backyardigans which I said my 2 year old loves that show. He loves the music and singing. I also suggested Little Einstein also with some great classical music and art. Kelceesmom said her child loves the Mickey Mouse Club and Good night Show w/star. With the music them Rjsmom said her son loved the music from the gap commercial and kelceesmoms daughter(hope I have that correct) loves the music from Jeopardy. Then my computer went blank...It was tired and needed sleep....no really the battery ran out of juice. So sorry if I missed anything else important. Thank you all for being there last night. It was great chatting as usual. If I forgot something or got it totally wrong please correct me. You all have a great week and look forward to seeing you next Tuesday night at 9 pm eastern. Michelle

My hubby got home from his business trip early, so I missed it. Sorry, maybe next time?? Is there a weekend one, too? When is it?

So sorry I wasn't there on Tuesday night girls. My husband has a herniated disc as of Sunday and has been home all week barely able to move much less go to work. So I wasn't able to attend. I did want to let those who have been chatting with me know that unfortunately right now we can't proceed with our adoption plan. We were hit with this herniated disc issue which put us in the emergency room and he's got daily visits to the chiropractor for about the next six weeks. We also both graduated from college this summer and have student loans with outrageous interest rates of 13.75% starting next month which rivals a car payment that we weren't expecting. My first loans from when I got my AA in 2001 were at 7% so it's a big difference between $60 and $198. So until we can get our finances back in order we are again on hold. I've gotten some great information packets and am planning on attending a free seminar early in 2007. Thank you all for your support and friendship, it means a lot. I'll be back as soon as I can!
