We have been matched!!

I am thrilled to say we were recently matched with a wonderful person in CA due late Jan with a baby boy!!

Now comes the even harder part of waiting to be matched...waiting for baby!

Since she is in CA what are the laws for how soon the TPR can be signed and what is the time frame that she could change her mind?

Don't know about CA laws (google California Adoption Statutes), but just wanted to congratulate you on the match! I know how exciting of a time this is (you may never experience anyhting quite as exhilerating!). Enojoy this time and I hope all goes well for you, the baby and the birthfamily!

Congrats! I could be wrong, but I believe that there is a 30 day rev period in CA.

Good luck and I hope time FLIES!

Congratulations! I live in CA and they have a 30 day revoc period. If you need an attorney in this state let me know and I will give you my lawyers info. Not sure how that works. We adopted from AZ and needed an attorney in CA and AZ. Best of luck. Hope the time flies by for you.

Yes, CA has a 30-day revocation period but if you are going through an agency, the pbmom can opt to sign to waive that time period. We've adopted X 2 in CA and our son's bmom was emotionally ready to sign the waiver and our youngest dd's bmom was not able emotionally. CA does expect pbmom's to wait 5-7 days to sign relinquishments but sometimes they sign earlier but the form just isn't filed 'til the 5-7 day timeperiod. Yes, the waiting time can be hard, but if you are aiming at an open adoption, it's a wonderful time to get to know one another and for shared OB visits. Best of luck! susan
