A question about legal fees?

My dh and I are trying to adopt older kid. Well on friday my sw asked us if we would be interested in a infant due in Jan. We said yes. My question is what are some of the lawyer fees. If it hels we are in Va. The baby is in VA also.

I"m not in VA....but I know it just depends on the attorney. Some are more expensive than others, and it will depend on whether you have to pay any other expenses, such as birthmother expenses, or additional stuff. I believe I'd be asking your worker about this before proceeding...unless you have a large sum to use toward this. It may not be more than under 5k.....or it could be much more, just depending. But it's good practice to have them give you at least an estimate, so you can be prepared....

Good luck on this!

Sincerely,

Linny

I guess it would depend on the state/city and what kind of attorney you use.

We live in a small town and are just using a local attorney. We were told in the price range of less then $1000 for his fees. (We talked to two different ones and they were both about the same)
