feb, march, april matched and waiting

i thought i would start a new thread for those of us already matched and waiting for a baby to be born in feb, march or april. I know it is a long way away and there are probably not too many of us out there, but our group will grow as the months go on.

our baby is due in march/april. we will have an ultrasound this week to find out actual due date. we will also, hopefully find out the sex of the baby! i am soooo excited and also aprehensive. i have just kept the adoption in the back of my mind, ok the front of my mind. i think about the baby 24/7, i have broused the baby isles, but i have not purchased anything yet. i was tempted to buy one of those stroller/carseat things, but i didn't. the practical me says to just wait and buy it after the baby is born. we will be traveling to the birth and will i really want to drag this with me. i checked and there is a target and walmart in the city we will be staying in for the birth so maybe i will just buy it there. i think i will be coasting through the holidays and then in the long winter months of jan/feb i will get our nursery ready and prepare for the baby. excitement!

i hope you all can join me in our journey of waiting for our matches to be babies!

I'll join you. Our baby is due Feb. 5th. It's a boy!

I've not bought anything yet also...other then yard sale items. (Which are great!)

We've been TTC and or trying to adopt for a long time also. We've got most things that we need already. We've had a crib for a long time, also a car seat. I've been buying like new items at yard sale for years, like a diaper changing table and other things.

For some reason I'm worried we're going to jinx ourselves if I got to the store and buy something!! LOL

We have a 9 yr old son, so I already had his crib. It sure has been fun buying pink. He is so excited to be a big brother soon.

i was at costco earlier this week and i bought something baby. they had a wipe warmer and i couldnt resist! its not much, but it's a start. i am just dying to go shopping, after we find out the gender then i won't be able to hold myself back.

bmom was supposed to have an ultrasound this week and i havent heard anything. its so hard to not be in control. this is definately a patience learning experience.

i have only told a few people about the baby. most of my friends and family don't even know we were looking into adopting a baby again. of course i had to tell a few of my closest friends because we had to get letters of reference. so about 3 people know. my kids also know we are looking to adopt, but they don't know we have a match. maybe after the holidays i will tell. then its only a few months until the birth, but even that is a long time to kids. the last time we adopted we didnt tell anyone until the baby was born and boy were they surprised. i have dropped a few hints at family parties. something like "i would love to have another baby". so they wont be as surprised as last time. have you all told everyone or are you cautiously holding out?

have a good day!

Hi, everyone! I am an alumni of the 2006 March thread! Amazing that we're to that point already! However, we were matched at three weeks before birth, so I don't envy you your wait! Wishing great things for all of you!

Denice, I know what you mean about not being in control. I have to keep telling myself that she's only 20. If she says that she's going to call and doesn't, it doesn't mean that she's backing out...it means she's only 20.

At first we didn't tell any but a hand full of people. But DH brother seen the u/s photo on the table and found out. So we told our families because we didn't want him to slip and tell before we could. We at first thought about waiting until after the birth, but then want people to be happy with us. Then the plan was Christmas time, then Thanksgiving...it ended up before Halloween! LOL

I'm thinking about calling our PBmom today. She said that she was going to call last week to come over to show us the new U/S photos that she had the week before. She had not been feeling well and was having headaches, so I want to check on here and make sure she is feeling okay. Also DH made a website were we can blog about the adoption. It will be a place to post photos also. So I wanted to give her the address for it. And maybe that will bring up her giving us her email address. I'd love to be able to email her and not worry about calling her.

i wish i could email our bmom, but she doesn't have a computer or access to one, so it's phone calls or snail mail. i don't mind calling, but it's not always convient for either of us. i don't want to be a pest to her either, although she is very nice and doesn't seem to mind. the clock just ticks, slowly, but fast too. i mean, we have been matched for a month and it seems to have gone by pretty quickly, but we still have 5+ months to go. i do have other kids, so it's not like i don't have anything to do but think about the adoption. but of course i think about the adoption all the time.

are you glad you told everyone? i want to tell, but DH doesn't want to yet. I have a few friends who know and i talk to them a little about it, but what is there to say after awhile. its not like they can ask me how im feeling ( physically) oh well, its just long and i can wait.

I am glad that we told. Because now I can talk to people about it. But I'm worried that if she changes her mind, I'll have to tell everyone what happened.

I think about the adoption all the time. So I think that time goes slower because I'm always thinking of it.

Our match all started back in Aug. We met with our Pbmom on the day after Labor day. So it's been a long time.

It is a long match and at first we didn't want to match with someone until atleast 6 months along.

Well I guess God knew that, so we were first told that she was about 6 months, then as we got into it a little more we were told maybe more like 5 months. Come to find out when it all started she was only about 4 months.

But like I said...God knew what we wanted...6 months. If this is our child it will be.

I agree we were scare too but at the same time excited because the wait has been so long. Since we are only a few days apart(Feb 7th) we only have 15 weeks to go.

Hey, girls! I just wanted to say hang in there!!! We have been matched for the last 4 months and still have 2.5 months to go!

Luckily, I haven't been too stressed about it since I have a 16 month old to keep me on my toes!

I just wanted to say Congrats and Good Luck!
