I requested more info on a sibling group a while ago, gave there CW my workers number so that she could fax my homestudy over. Come to find out my homestudy has been completed but hasn't been typed up yet. My worker said that it's been sitting on her desk but needs to be typed up on agency letter head. This is the same lady that told me to start looking on my state's available child photolisting site. She said to let her know of any children I wanted to receive more info. on and she would fax over my homestudy. What was she thinking. I'm in the beginning stages of the adoption process and I am already having problems. I'm so glad I'm working with another agency. Has anyone else had a problem like this before? You would think that since there is such a lack of adoptive and foster parents the CWs would try to get this stuff done as soon as possible.

You know...this kind of thing is NOT that uncommon......really!!!!!! It's a sad fact of the system and it's failings.
We had this same thing happen. Worse yet, I think, the cw'er told us that the hs had been sent over....and I kept checking....kept waiting to hear confirmation. It never happened. Why? Because the original cw'er NEVER DID send it over in the first place!!!!!!! I had a fit over this, and the agency apologized, as I recall. But, it happens more often than you think. Just be sure, whenever you ask to have ANYTHING sent over to another agency or situation, you double check to assure it's actually been done. I have found over the years that a hopeful adoptive couple has to constantly stand in the line to assure that what we pay for, what we are requesting, actually gets done in the first place. Sad, but true. I hope this has not cost you the chances of having children you might have hoped for......... (And I think I'd be reporting this cw'er too..... ?) Sincerely, Linny |

I was thinking about reporting her but I didn't want to risk having my homestudy messed up in any way.
Thanks for the reply Linny. |
