Newbie question - what is DNA matching for?
I apologise in advance for what is probably a silly question. I'm from Australia and am curious as to why a lot of you ladies and gents have "DNA matching - successful" etc. in your sigs. What does DNA matching have to do with adoption if you're adopting a new child?

It is for the birthmother and birthchild. In many countrys they must do a DNA match to prove the birthmother is the actual parent of the baby they wish to surrender for adoption. A DNA match is not done on the adoptive parents .
