Placement by engaged or married couples?
We are being considered for a baby due soon. The pbmom has 2 children already, but is still very involved with the pbdad. While they have good reasoning behind why they want to place, I have to wonder if they will be able to go through with it since they plan to eventually get married (and I would imagine maybe have more children some day, they are both early 20's). Has anyone adopted a baby from people who were married or planned to get married soon? I just want to know, *IF* we are even chosen, if I should even hope....

Our son's first parents are engaged. They have a 16 month old. This was a last minute placement and I did not meet his first mom until he was 2 weeks old. However, they were engaged at the time and are planning to marry within the next year. They knew for the sake of their older son, this was the decision they had to make.
Don't immediately dismiss it. I have heard of married couples placing also.

2 children when you're in your 20's is a lot to take care of already... I wouldn't dismiss the situation either.

Our son's bmom and bdad have lived together for 8 years and have two other children together. Among other issues, they just couldn't afford our son. It could be the one!

Our oldest daughter's first parents are a married couple with 5 children. So, yes it is certainly possible.
Hang in there! Simone |

My DD's birth parents had a daughter and got married fairly soon after DD was born. Many of my friends have adopted from married couples and couples who have had other children. Good luck!
