We have used 2 different kinds. The kind that fits right on the toilet & the kind that sits on the floor. It depends on the child. Out of the 5 kids, 3 used the floor kind & 2 used the toilet kind.
GOOD LUCK!!!! Deb

I have heard of a traveling potty seat that folds up in a little box shape. This way you can travel and not have to worry about all of the nasty bathrooms that exist out there. and it is great for home use as well. You can get them at babies r us I think. Hope this helps!

I have 5 kids, 3 of which are potty trained (or almost) and have also potty trained SEVERAL other daycare kids, I have never used any sort of potty seat. I have found that the kids really like to be like the big people and I had a couple that would refuse to use a seat altogether. We always put him/her on the regular toilet but sitting backwards so their legs are strattling it (they face the tank). This way the child is more secure and can't fall in. Also, he/she can SEE what is going on "down there". That helps them make a connection- especially for beginners. Hope this helps
