Squash and Raspberries--and a Bad Mommy!

Just thought I'd share what a bad mommy I am. You arent supposed to laugh when your little one does mischevious things, it just makes them tend to do it some more, right?

Well, we are in the midst of trying out new level one foods. Turns out that of them all, the Woobie loves squash the absolute most! Makes him smile to eat it! As he was finishing up yesterday at dinner, I put the second to last spoonful in his mouth...he grins...and decides to give me a "raspberry": PTHPHTHTHPPHTHT!!

I mean how cute is that?? Messy, but cute, so of course I laughed and he grinned again...Guess what happened next? Last spoonful goes in and yep, PTHPHTHTPHTH!! with much glee. Little guy was so proud of himself, and as an extra added bonus, there were splatters of semi-eaten squash all over his high chair tray--fun to play in with our fingers!

Sooo...we'll see how he does at dinner tonight, maybe he'll forget that I subtly encouraged him by taking delight in his little game...probably not. But I'm guessing he won't still be doing it when he's 20

I know what yoiu mean - sometimes you just can't help but laugh. It gets better too.

When my son got into using his hands in the food, it went all over him. He often rubbed it through his hair and all over his face and he thinks its the most wonderful thing. However, the day that he took the little tub of bananas and put it on top of his head and topped it off with some milk from the sippy cup, I had to laugh. I actually took a picture of that one.

I know from experience with nieces and nephews, there are going to be times when I just won't be able to hold in the laugh!

How fun! Squash was A's first favorite. Then Sweet Potatoes. Fun to clean out of the hair, let me tell you!

I find I have to distract him a lot. Usually, that means singing the Winnie the Pooh theme song (and then personalizing it to A for the 2nd and 100th verses). For some reason, whenever I sing that song, he immediately gets quiet and looks up to the ceiling for a ceiling fan/light..... Strange, but it works!

GET LOTS OF PHOTOS!
