We have just created a profile at ParentProfiles.com but have not yet activated or paid for it. I just wonder if there are people who have found placements by using ParentProfiles.com and if so could you share your story.

We have created one there because we started our adoption application two years ago (completed home study and were licensed fall 2004) and are still waiting after one recent failed adoption and I want to do whatever I can to speed up placment. So far we hadn't done anything except wait for our agency to match us and tell family and friends that we wanted to adopt in case they heard of anyone.

We used parent profiles this past year and loved it. We were not getting many contacts through our agency, so we signed up with parent profiles. We ended up being contacted by quite a few potential birthmothers, as well as some scammers too. But in the end it was totally worth it. Our birthmother came across our profile on that site! Although we just did the basic package, I have heard that the extreme exposure works really well so you might want to consider that too. I think it is worth the extra money. Good luck!

Do a search on the forum for parentprofiles as there was recent conversations about them!! Most gave it a thumbs up with the caveat that there were some solicitations from people who were not on the up and up (but overall, people seemed happy!!).

We did post a site on Parent Profiles......it was great! Looking at our phone bill it was amazing how many calls we got. We actually had a nice conversation with a potential birthmother and sent our profile to her and she chose us (by calling one morning and saying she chose us and delivered but didn't know she was that far along) but during that time we had another contact thru our lawyer. If we would have gone with that match it would have been 4 months from posting our site to the birth. I would definatley do Parent Profile next time.
