I guess I can join up!

We mailed off all our home study paper work, or have it with the people it needs to be with. Everything just needs to get back to the agency, and we have the 1st of our 2 HS visits on July 3rd We should be HS ready in about 2 weeks

On "the list"

We just got officially put on the waiting list with our agency. We were actually on June 15, but then we went on vacation until the 24th. So I thought I would say hello to everyone here. We are doing domestic infant adoption (up to 12 months old) - our agency is "projecting" 6-12 months wait, but we all know how that goes!

I'm trying to be calm about the waiting.....I don't want to get caught off guard and not have the nursery ready, but I also don't want to stare at it for a year or more.....so I'm working on it slowly (taking down pictures, cleaning out the closet, etc.).

We're kind of waiting.....

For anyone who did not see my thread, DD's birth mom is pregnant and has asked us to adopt the baby if she chooses to place again. She has told us she is almost positive that is the decision she is going to make so we are just waiting to see what happens.

K is pretty sure she is only about 2 months along. Her first doctor's visit is this Wednesday (July 1) so we'll know for sure then! It iwll be nice to have a group to "talk" to because I have a feeling it's going to be a long 6-7 months!!

Best wishes to everyone else waiting!

I am a ball of nervous excitement! There are two really good-sounding new situations at our facilitator. We know for sure we were profiled for one, a sibling group of two toddler boys. The other is for a 5-year-old boy. We would be thrilled with either situation, based on the limited information we have now. Just yesterday, I was feeling depressed and like it might be forever before we get a match. Today, these two situations pop up. Everything the mom of the two boys is looking for (that we've been told about) matches with us, and the things she's requesting makes for a pretty narrow subset of the potential couples. I can't make my brain work - all I can think is "Pleeeeeeease pick us!!!!"

We sent out our electronic profile today

to be viewed by an emom who is incarcerated. She has viewed all the families open to AA infants that this small agency has to offer, and wanted to see more profiles. The SW e-mailed me back right away and said she LOVED it and we had an adorable family. Said she was excited to show it to e-mom when she went out to see her, and that she thought because we had an AA adopted son that she might be more open to us. So crossing our fingers on this one. The other situation we are in on seems like sort of a dead end, but I'm continuing to follow through on it. The SW there is just being very difficult and today when she spoke to DH it didn't go well. DH basically wants nothing to do with her cause she spoke down to him so much. That baby is already born, but they don't seem in any hurry to place!

Good luck to all of you waiting on possible matches. I imagine feeling a combination of nervousness and excitement. I'm having enough trouble with the wait now. I can't imagine the bundle of nerves I'll be if we're matched before the birth. I'm sending good thoughts and wishes your way ladies

My wife and I are in limbo. There was a potential situation but after the Adoption getting more info it wouldn't be a good fit for us due to some paternity issues and potential for drama. It would have been too much of a risk for us so .... We are still waiting for the to ring.

Good luck, aclee!

I've spent the evening looking at the profiles of every other couple on our facilitator's website. There are VERY few who are open to 5-year-olds, so I feel good about that situation, too. Maybe one of these two situations will be ours! I'm excited about the possibility, but I worry about the children and their parents, and the changes that might be coming in all their lives.

Good Luck Aclee, that sounds like a promising situation.

We only have about 6 weeks left until baby boy is born and I am starting to get that "nesting" feeling. I am sure glad that the month of July is going to be super busy because I am hoping it will make time fly by. We have loved getting to know emom, and her family. She is such an amazing woman.

We are trying not to think about the fact that our SW is showing our profile to two different emoms in the next couple of weeks, but it's HARD!
