Me-- I am wondering how long it takes to get my profile on the agency's website. Dropped it off Monday and it's still not on there. Waiting is not my strong suit and this whole process is about waiting. blech!

I'm no good at waiting either. It gives me hope to see all the happy posts on this thread, but makes me even more impatient Congratulations to all of you with good news. I hope the rest of us get good news soon.
Mom2Max I'm sorry it was a bad day. I know how you feel. My husband and I seem to be constantly surrounded by other peoples babies and none of our own.

Congrats to all the new moms! Wow, maybe that baby dust really does work! Or there's something to that spring baby boom theory. I hope so!

We were told about a situation with an 8-year-old boy. Our age limit is 6, but it's so hard to stick to a limit when you hear about and see pics of an actual child. I wanted to go for it, but my DH was freaked about by his age and some other factors. I tried to talk him into it, but ultimately he wasn't on board, so we aren't being profiled. I'm just nervous because of his age and situation that there won't be many takers at our facilitator for this child. DH agreed that if they can't find a family for him, we would think about it again. It's so hard once I see a photo of a child and hear his story. I get so emotionally involved, thinking about all this child has and will have to go through. I just hope they find a really wonderful family for him.

And I hope our child comes along soon! I have a feeling we're going to be toward the shorter end of our facilitator's wait spectrum (they say 9 to 16 months for Caucasian couples ... we're at 5 months now) because we keep responding positively to harder-to-place situations, which pop up about every three weeks. This is the first one in months we haven't said yes to.

1/09 Profiled and spoke to bmom for sibset of 3 ... had to back out
3/09 Profiled and spoke to bmom for 6yo boy ... not chosen
8/09 Failed match for 4yo boy ... bparents changed their minds when we were on our way to meet them
8/09 15yo cousin considered placing baby w/ us but decided to parent
9/09 Failed match for 7yo boy ... dad decided to fight mom for custody rather than sign consent

We have thrown our hat in the ring on a possible placement of a little boy with some special needs. I'm really hoping we are chosen!!! They are placing him the first of next week. Prayers and baby dust would be appreciated!!!!

We were matched yesterday with 2 sibs J is 5 and M is 2- we go to the paper staffing next Thursday to get all the info. We are beyond excited and now need to bunker down and get the rooms/house ready for them!!

August 2008- Approved/finger print clearance by DES
Sept 2008- Began MAPP classes
Oct 2008- 2nd meeting/ individual meetings
Nov 2008- completed MAPP classes
Dec 2008- physicals completed, all paper work turned in,including life book
Jan 5th 2009- last home study meeting/paid court
March 3rd 2009- received adoption license
April 23rd matched with 5 2 and moving forward!!!
May 4 2009 meet kids for first time and decide to bring them home forever same day
Set to finalize adoption on National adoption day Nov 21st 2009

1/31/09- Received MAPP Certificate of completion
3/17/09- Received background check clearance
5/27/09-Home study officially approved
6/29/09- Home Officially opened and on "THE LIST"
8/13/09- Received license in the mail
11/13/09- rang regarding a 2 month old and 2 year old as possible matches
11/16/09- Paternal Family filed papers for custody of 2 year old :sad:
11/17/09- Informed 2 month old actually a and judge wants her placed in Pre-adoptive home ASAP
11/23/09- Told Foster Mom wants to try keep 2 month old. Waiting for Law guardian decision

Patiently waiting to hear more

We just found out we were chosen to be the parents of a baby boy born on Monday.
Baby is in NJ and we were told we'll have to stay there for approx 3 weeks. We are a little worried about how that will go with our toddler but we are over the moon. Trying to think of names now...
