Delaney Laura Jane was born in Utah on 11/13/08 at 7:28 am! We are waiting for ICPC to go through so we can head back home to Nebraska......

It has been a VERY long wait...going on 2 years and this is such a miracle that I am now a mommy!! God has answered our prayers...maybe not in the time frame we have wanted...but, they are answered!!

Heather, I am so happy for you. I can understand the long wait, and it is so exciting to know that you finally have your baby in your arms. I can only imagine how special that is for you. Cuddle her and love her bunches. Hope your ICPC goes through quickly.

Crystalp .. I'm so sorry about your frustration. I can't imagine the long wait. Reading all the posts here .. it does seem as though it eventually works out .. I wish you the best of luck.

We found out yesterday (our first report), that we were presented five times in October. We were presented with about 50 other couples. We were not in the top three for any of the birthmom. However, our agency said this is very normal and they don't do anything or worry about it for at least six months. It was exciting just to hear birthmom were looking at our profile.

7 weeks and counting for our baby girl to arrive! Sometimes I think that the waiting is going by quickly and other times I feel that I may jump out of my skin! We have been spending a lot of time with N-even my sister and her are close! She will also things like, "look what you have to look forward too," when we see a baby and I just can not help but think this is it! I know I am trying to stay cautious, but when she refers to my sister as Aunt K or introduces us as her baby's parents I can not help but get so excited!

So I have an update...the birthmother would like to meet us, along with the other 2 families presented. So we are having coffee with her tomorrow afternoon along with the attorney. The attorney said it will be very casual, but I am really looking forward to tomorrow. I'm a little nervous, but I really believe this is a step in the right direction!

In other news...we were presented to an expectant mother last week but weren't picked. When our caseworker called to tell us we weren't chosen, she told me about two other em's they were presenting profiles to, and we agreed to be shown to both of them. She told me they'd be meeting with both of these women this week but I have no idea exactly when or how long it will take for a decision to be made. (The em last week decided within 48 hours; the other time we were shown to an em we didn't hear for a week. I know that in "baby-born" situations they hear quickly but there doesn't seem to be a set time frame for situations that are farther out.)

So I'm going crazy waiting to hear. And my H is also going crazy, which is driving me crazier, lol. Any good thoughts anyone feels like sending our way would be greatly appreciated.

We received our final final home study in the mail yesterday. There was one little mistake in it. But, frankly, I am not going to have her redo anything. I am just so glad it is done and in our hands. So, we are officially with an agency and "homestudy ready." We are very excited.

I'm now starting to think about if I should decorate our extra room for a baby .. but, a little hesitatant to do so .. because I know I still may have a very long road.
