TAP - Welcome!
Okay, we have been approved and waiting for a placement for 3 months now. We started all of this (first domestic infant, then changing to foster) 18 months ago. I have to say that today is the first time since we have been approved to foster that I have been really discouraged. I'm so ready, and there is not a thing I can do to get a placement faster. I can't even redo a profile, because we don't do that sort of thing!! I just have to wait, and I'm so over waiting. I'm just so afraid that we are going to wait months more for a placement, and then that placement will be reunified, and we will wait months more for a new placement. I'm just discouraged today, and ready for a baby.

Crystal- I am sorry you are feeling discouraged today. Keep your chin up and try to remember that all things are in HIS time, not ours. I hope HIS time is soon though!

crystal - I so know your pain. Hang in there. It is a tough road, but so worth it in the end. I wish it was easier. I am praying for you to find your little one.

August 2005 - approved with 1st agency October 2006 - 1st match (she lost the baby at 7 months) November 2006- 2nd match May 2007 - birthmom chose to parent July 2007 - decided to switch agencies Jan. 2008 - approved with agency #2 July 2008 - placed with our forever kids - sib set of 3 November 2008 - suprise phone call and we added their younger brother March 24, 2009 - finalized adoptions for first 3 June 16, 2009 - finalize adoption for #4

It's a Boy3-30-08 Got the call- Baby is on his way- So are we  3-31-08 Baby boy born  4-4-08 We are home! 6-28-08 First visit with birthparents- Good day!!!! 8-20-08 Adoption finalized in the courts8-30-08 Finalization documents received

TAP - Welcome - I am new myself!
Crystal - I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason - unfortunately, it really isn't evident until later what that reason is. That is what I keep telling myself. Doesn't make the waiting any easier though, eh! I will say lots of prayers for you that your wait will be over soon.

We're waiting...and waiting...and waiting some more... We know it will happen in God's time, but some days I just get so gosh darn impatient! I've waited my whole life to have a family, and knowing it's going to happen at some point, makes me super excited, but not knowing "when" puts my stomach in knots! My husband thinks it's "cute" when I start stressing out about it. He keeps me grounded and keeps my sense of humor going through this all and that definitely helps!

So we got an email this weekend from a local adoption attorney and we have sent in our home study and profile to be shown to an emom, due end of December!! It's a girl! This is our first situation to be presented for a baby girl. I am trying not to get to excited, but we are being shown tomorrow and if the birthmother likes us we will meet her soon. Right now we are the only family that has asked to be shown to the birthmom. I am so excited! Hoping for "the call" tomorrow!!!

She was meant to be ours we just had to wait for her to come along! Our God is so Good!!!

1st DD Hannah Nicole received her wings, July 03  2nd DD May 94  12yr ttc Began adoption July 07 Possible match family placement Oct. 07 Fell through Nov. 07  Jan. 08 Got call ....not chosen by emom 03-07-08 Matched - emom due March 11th Call 03-08-08, lead 4 families to think they were going to parent her baby  Call 03-10-08, she wasn't even pregnant  Waiting again. 03-17-08 Had to turn down baby girl, couldn't get flight before discharge Our hearts are breaking and waiting again. 04-29-08 Got call....not chosen by emom due in June 06-17-08 Got call....not chosen by emom due July 6th Profiled 07-18-08 for emom due in Nov. - emom decided to parent 08-25-08 Profiled 07-25-08 for emom due in Oct. - never heard back from emom Profiled 08-12-08 for emom due in Sept. - never heard back from emom Trying not to get discouraged, but getting more difficult every day.

We are parents!!
Ladies,
I can't tell you enough how great this waiting thread has been for me the past months. From understanding what others were going through as they wait and to those who adopted a child along the way.....I have great news! Baby dust was blown and now we are parents! Delaney Laura Jane was born in Utah on 11/13/08 at 7:28 am! We are waiting for ICPC to go through so we can head back home to Nebraska...... It has been a VERY long wait...going on 2 years and this is such a miracle that I am now a mommy!! God has answered our prayers...maybe not in the time frame we have wanted...but, they are answered!! Heather
