Yash, I would probably lean towards 6-9 month clothes. My DS weighed 12 lbs 22" in mid September (7 weeks old). Now he's already up to approx 18lbs. and starting to grow out of 3-6 month already. Though, at his young age he is probably growing faster than your DD. As for shoes, I have no idea what size to suggest. Maybe the leather crib shoes would work well (i.e. Robeez, Ministar) because they have some stretch to them. I hope the rest of the process goes quickly for you. I was always excited to start shots during fertility treatments, I never thought about the fact that shots could also be an exciting step for adoption too! Hope you get to hold her in your arms real soon!

Thanks, I'm feeling a bit better now, a bit more hopeful, Dh and I have decided to sign with a second agency. I hate that, lost in limbo sort of feeling one can get while waiting... ![]() |

Ok...I'm there....I'm finally in a pissy adoption state of mind. It took almost two years - but I'm there.
And why might you ask? Because... I called my stupid agency yesterday morning FIRST THING because I wanted to talk to one of the workers about our file (just discuss and see if there's anything we should be doing differently or considering differently) ....During the conversation I learned that we no longer have a worker here in my city (they've always had a satellite worker for the agency) so we'll probably have to pay MILEAGE for them to drive the 2 hours here and 2 hours back just for them to do our update - which will consist of us saying "Nothing's new". DId I mention I called yesterday? Yeah - have they returned my call??? NO. Two days and you can't return a freaking phone call?? I say BOOOOO to you A.O. |

First, congratulations to everyone who has received good news lately- it definitely gives me a lot of hope!
Well, DH and I have only been waiting for 5 weeks, but I am having my own little pity party. For the past 2 years, I've been thinking, "maybe we'll have a little one with us for the holidays next year." So now, as I walk down the aisles of Christmas trees and decorations (hey, it's still OCTOBER!), it makes me realize that 2008 might not be THE YEAR, either. I know that everything happens as it should, but "I want an Oompa-Loompa now!" My apologies for the Willy Wonka/Charlie and the chocolate factory quote- DH has corrupted me. ![]()

dancinbear - Gosh, I think that's a trap we all fall into. I haven't done it with our second adoption - but man, when we were trying/waiting for our first.....it was just so painful at Christmas time...
then mother's day... |

Our situation is a bit different, as when the time comes we'll be going through CPS/FCS, and right now I can't even start the process until June or so...but for me, I'm wondering about a child that's wanting a family for Christmas that could be our match...waiting for us...

)But yeah, it haunts me...the idea that a kid is writing to Santa, asking for a Mom and Dad...and we're stuck waiting for the right time...

Well, one advantage with adopting a waiting child (as far as the if he is worthy thing)...you actually know the needs your child will have ahead of time, and you can figure out if you are equipped to handle it....Not everyone can handle everything, and that's ok.
What injury Melissa? I'm debating whether to write a smart-butt comment about shooting your mouth off in the wrong crowd....... ![]() |

We've applied for two situations:
Sib group of two brothers who are 9 & 7 and a 7 year old boy being placed by himself (he has sibs, but they're not being placed with him. Hopefully one of these situations is our match. |

I was working as a nursing attendant, and assaulted by a resident. Long story short, I now have CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) from my rt shoulder to fingertips...about 10-20% use of my dominant hand/arm/shoulder as a result. It doth sucketh.

My aunt was a psychiatric nurse. They had an inmate staying in the hospital - and one night he beat her senseless with a flashlight. Totally shattered her bones in her face, particularly around her eye.....she's healed - but not 100% ....
I honestly don't think a person can ever truly recover from any attack. sucketh indeed. |

Eh...The resident that assaulted me wasn't competent enough to form intent. Just a bad bounce. Physically, as far as the arm goes, its a disorder of the sympathetic nervous system, so I'm hoopied on that. Mentally...I'm as sane as I ever was
