So this month our homestudy renewal is due AGAIN!

I just emailed my SW and asked when she was ready to get started with renewal number two!- after two and a half years since we started the whole adoption thing we have become pretty close...
I want to throw in the towel and say ENOUGH heart ache already! But know that we cant because without this we can't have a family.

So today, I get to start shuffling papers and sorting through old stuff to throw away or donate(de clutter) to make our house look perfect for the next homestudy...

YUCKKKK! I so dont look forward to this!

Oh - I am so sorry to those matches that are not working out. I am thinking of you. Hang in there.

We are good. Still enjoying our vaction and are glad we are here to fill time until the disclosure meeting with the kids worker. Last night we finally got the child availables and were able to see pictures of the kids (so cute). We still feel like this isn't really happening. We have decided to not tell our daugther until after disclosure and we are for sure, for sure. It is so hard to not tell her though and show her pictures. We are still waiting to hear but, disclosure should be in 2 weeks and then hopefully they will be in out home a few weeks after that.

July 4th was great. We had fun at the lake. July 18 my husband and I are taking our 2 oldest nieces to Sea World. I am so excited.

Just got off the phone with our agency and they said there are still no birthmom's. Maybe next week.

It's a baby girl!!!!

We are matched with a biracial baby girl born 6/24/08. Bmom has signed irrevocable consent. Baby is 16 days old and currently in a transitional home b/c they have to wait 32 days from birth for the putative father registry before they can terminate his rights, b/c they can't find him to get him to sign. Termination is planned for day 32 or 33 and then we'll be able to pick her up! We're not too worried about it, b/c bmom is 23 and white, and dad is 46 and black. They lived together and were in a relationship until just recently, and they broke up, and dad moved out. Both are cocaine addicts. Bmom says she didn't use during pregnancy until right before she delivered, but not sure how trustworthy that information is... I suppose that could have been around the time they broke up. Bmom was positive for cocaine at birth, and baby's meconium also tested positive. Baby's a peanut at 6lbs and 18 1/2 inches! Her apgars were 7 and 8, and she was deemed healthy. Baby was put in the hospital overnight for observation last night for double ear infections OUCH!

So now we are just waiting for the 32nd day to pass and keeping our fingers crossed!

4everwaiting - I'm so sorry you're having a rough time. We hit our 1 year wait and it's time for us to update for the first time. God Bless you for having the patience and courage to update again. It's sooo hard not to get down and discouraged. And we have one case worker that says to us, "remember, most of our matches take 13 months to 18 months, and you've only been in a year". Sometimes I just want to scream when she says that. I know that already, don't make me feel worse by reminding me every time. LOL

Keep up the faith. Our children will get here soon. Blowing lots of baby dust and sending your way!!!!!!
