Okay so dh and I talked and he does not think we should call...he thinks he might be at work or something....BLECH. I don't know...still deciding...but it's too late by now anyhow really.

Hopefully they'll email back, if not we will try tomorrow.

I understand your hesitation in calling.. but I still think that you should consider it. Besides.. do you know for a fact that they have internet access at home? Its a possibility that they don't.. or maybe they have dial-up and they want to keep their line open.

One day of waiting won't hurt the situation in the slightest, but I would still consider calling them if they don't call. You never want to assume what the other is thinking.. they may be nervous to call you and don't want to come across as 'bothering' you!

We booked our flight yesterday and we are off the 27th of December - perfect as then we get to spend Xmas with our kiddos and then most of january in South Africa - we will be gone for a month!

DH and I are also in the waiting process through OKDHS. Our caseworker took our home study and summary to the statewide meeting a few weeks ago. Because of the age range and other factors involved our caseworker said while she can't guarantee we will be picked quickly, she believes it will go rather fast. Talk about exciting news!! Anyway, I'm so happy I've found this wonderful community and support system. Only people who are going through what we are going through can understand, it's amazing how unsupportive people can be when they don't understand, even if they don't mean to be unsupportive.

Okay, so I've slept...stupid gene is kinda gone (okay you all know me too well...I'm so full of it ) No really though I do feel better, more calm today. I'm trying not to be discouraged, but at the same time I'm not getting my hopes up either. They are college kids, they have a different time schedule, and they don't live together so they probably are going to wait until they are together. I don't know, anyways we will call them tonight just in case they didn't get the email or something. I am glad I waited, but it's killing me. I'm worried about what I'll say, but mostly what if they dont' answer, or if they don't want to talk anymore. Ya know? Like my email scared them off....lol...which I know is not really true as it wasn't anything major...but you know...your mind goes through every detail and you start second guessing yourself.

Dh keeps telling me that the email was good, they sounded very sure of themselves that they wanted to contact us and talk to us. He said that THEY contacted US so that is a good sign...that means that they are ready to talk to us...it just takes time. I love my dh and hate him for being right LOL.

So I take it that it would be a bad idea to call them and tell them that we can be in KS in 10 minutes? LMAO j/k of course

Thank you all so much for your support, it means the world to me. I am hoping this turns out to be something, but if not at least it shows how close we are ya know? At least it's SOMEthing. We have a meeting on Weds at our agency to do that addendum to our homestudy for the transracial adoption, I'm excited and nervous about that too....

Sunflower- Hello!! You are an okie huh? Aren't you originally from KS? I guess no bad-Oklahoma-driving jokes then...LOL Welcome!! Believe me, we all know how you feel and are right there with you. It's great that we can come here and vent...and yell...and cry...and dance without people saying crap like "Don't get your hopes up" or "Maybe you should speak to a therepist...your awfully depressed" (yes I had someone tell me this) or "Gees it's ONLY been *insert number of months here* months!!" or the best is "So....no news yet!?! What's the DEAL??". LMAO I could go on and on. Although they mean well....doesn't make the urge to strangle any less! So what age group are you looking at? Are you looking to adopt siblings?

Natalie~ Yep I'm originally from KS and only recently (1 1/2 yrs) transplanted into OK. I certainly like OK better than KS but it's not that much better, I'm thinking I'd rather live somewhere prettier, lol. LMAO about the driving thing, when I lived in KS I used to gripe about how horrible the OK drivers were and now I find myself doing th same thing but with KS drivers instead, how sad am I lol.

Those comments are exactly what drove me to trying to find a group that would understand me. While I realize people think they are being supportive by everytime you turn around asking you if you have heard anything, or telling you their friend so and so went through adoption and it took them x years or months or whatever so I should just sit back and relax, it doesn't stop me from feeling like beating my head against a wall. I don't want to constantly be reminded nothing has happened yet, or what not.

We are hoping to adopt a sibling group of two in between ages of 5-10. It's only been since the 15th that our homestudy went to the state wide meeting but it feels like an eternity! I wake up everyday going is today the day we hear something.

Kristie~ So nice to see a neighbor on these boards! I'm planning on heading over in just a few to check out your blogs, then I may have tons of questions, lol.

I think you will be just fine natalie, there isn't anyway they won't just fall in love with you! I bet you are right since they don't live together they are probably waiting so they can be there at the same time, plus it seems they have very busy days. I would give them till like 7 then pick that phone up and dial away. I can't wait to hear how things go, I'm so very excited for you!!
