I don't care one way or the other about the rep system. I was irritated the first time I was " bad dogged" because of my opinion, but I soon realized that as far as my life goes the only opinion that mattered was mine.
Yeah, I have to admit that there seem to be cliques ( or gangs) on this web board that get majorly P.O'd if you don't believe the same way you do,but again, it really doesn't matter in my "real life"
I will miss being able to offer support though....

Well I do see so very soon, if you have a different opinion, you will be hit on here for it. My first post was read by someone and they didn't agree so gave me a bad rep, and then proceeded to get it deleted. I never said anything against a person, never cursed, didn't say any names, Didn't even insult anyone. BUT it did not matter. I got Deleted As I am sure this will be deleted in time. I am just here to learn and see how others feel. What is so wrong with that? As anyone can see, I don't post much and I am not an ugly person.

Since your openly discussing the moderating action that took place - I will also jump in as the person who deleted the post and say that it was not ONE person who got your post deleted - there were a number of people who expressed great concern over your comment...I read it and I agreed.

You indicated in your email to me yesterday that you wouldn't be coming back here...I'm glad you stayed around - but please, as I explained to you in email, be very careful about passing your opinion about things as 'fact' - much as you did here.

Opinion = 1 poster got your post deleted

Fact = a number of members voice conern

Fact = your comment was out of line

Regardless, the rep system is gone...so we can all go back to complaining about bad moderation and unfair administrators...

I have mixed feelings about it being gone. I hated it when people used it to bash, and for that reason...good riddin's. But, I used it to praise people and give them support for their thoughts. One thing I love about the forums is that we are all different and bring a different outlook and perspective to the site. Too bad they can't just take off the "disagree" part.

Exactly! I can definetly understand the reason for getting rid of it, but it would also be nice to have the "agree" part there just to offer postive feedback. I realize that can always be done through posts or PMs, but I quite often used the rep system for just a quick positive note.

Sad that it does seem to be WAY too much like sixth grade some days.

Just a quick note to say:

1. I am not the only one here who deletes threads - I have three great Community Moderators and a whole team of Forum Moderators who do a darn good job of making sure the forums are a safe place for everyone.

As the administrator, I rarely moderate anymore...unless something comes up and there are no moderators around.

Alaina, you might notice the deleted post is back...deleted and restored by someone other than me...it happens more often than you might think...

I, for one, am glad to see the rep system go. It was so grossly abused. It's ability to let people leave remarks without anyone knowing they are allowed some attacks that were unwarranted. It's crazy how some people behave when they can hide behind their anonymity.

For those that will miss it as a way to lend support, I've always seen PM'ing as a way to give that extra support "behind the scenes." And if anyone wants to send someone a negative remark - they still can by using the PM system.

Yeah, I got "burned" several times on the rep system and as much as I tried to not let it bother me, I'm only human and words really do hurt me.

I'm now hoping to be a part of a more supportive, friendly, and tolerant group of great people on this site!

I've had a problem with many of the people who utilize the rep system. But the community as a whole has more to offer than the people who try to ruin it. No rep system would change that.

I had yet to be burned by the rep system, so I'm not the best judge - in fact, I know myself well enough to know that nasty comments would have hurt me deeply.

BUT, I really miss not seeing the rep comments that had been left for me - other members had said some really nice things to me and it really made me feel like I was helping people.

Not sure why, if someone hates the admin/moderators so much – they make every effort possible to continue to come back under new user ID’s – only to be banned again for continually violating our rules…things that make you go hmmm…
