Question help with a meeting place

Does anyone have any ideas for places to get together with the birthfamily? We met last year at a restruant and it worked fine but Castle was not walking yet. This year I don't think she would be happy for any length of time sitting at a table in a highchair plus I want her birthfamily to see the "real" her where she is playing and happy. DH and I are not totally comfortable with them coming to our house, not sure why really but anyway...
We talked about a park but "E's" grandfather is very old and can't be in the heat for very long so that doesn't work. They are very poor and ashamed of their house so they would never think of having us there and we would not suggest it for fear of making them feel uncomfortable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kelley

Maybe a mall that has a play area? Since that would be inside so no worry on heat, you could eat, play and shop

God Bless,
Summer

Hi, Kelly.

Do you have an indoor playground nearby? We have them in some malls and in some rec centers. The only drawback is the noise.

As a last choice, there's always McD's. Sorry for the judgment there!

Good luck with your meeting!

If you're looking for a nice indoor play area suitable for toddlers, without the overwhelming noise and public crowds -- may i suggest a children's play program like Gymboree? In addition to organized classes, these facilities also frequently offer "open play" times, where you just "pay and play" for the afternoon. I know our local Gymboree offers 2-3 hours of "open play" time each day in the afternoon/evening that is open to the public and members alike.

It's indoor, clean, heat/air-conditioned, and small kids only. Plus -- lots of fun climbing equipment for your little one! i'd call ahead, and ask if you can bring a folding chair for grandpa.

hope that helps.

I was going to suggest an indoor play area with somewhere for Castle to run and play and then grandpa can sit down. Maybe also somewhere with food because I think food is great at visits. lol Lots of our visits revolve around food and eating...

Maybe a kid oriented restaurant or someplace not very busy. When I saw my bdaughter last year we ate at the hotel lobby restaurant with about 5 other people (other than us) and TONS of space. She was up acting silly and no one cared.

McDonalds with an indoor playground. Works great - pressure is off. Kids love it even if the visit doesn't occur.
