OT GunkyEyes
Hi,
What is anybody's experience with weepy, "gunky" eyes? They don't seem to bother DD much so I've just been watching them thanks

Is it a regular thing? My daughter woke up one day last week with a runny eye (clear, like tears) and there was a little gunk. Her eye wasn't red and she wasn't rubbing it.
She happened to have her 15 month check up that day and the doctor didn't seem concerned, said it was probably just allergies. Regards, Brandy

eyes
It's been new the past couple days. A non-dr friend said she had pink eye, but they're not pink, and don't really bother her.

I asked my doctor if maybe my daughter was getting pink eye and she looked at them and said they were fine.
My daughters eye was actually puffy underneath when she woke that day. Not pink either and not alot of gunk, just every now and then. Might want to check with your doctor, especially since it has been a couple days. I know where we are it hasn't rained and everyone's allergies are bad. Regards, Brandy

Tear ducts
It could proably be a lot of things.
Our newborn woke a couple of times with one "gunky eye." The peditrician said it was probably a blocked tear duct. He said to massage the area and it would go away. He also gave us a prescription for something, that I didn't fill. For our little guy it didn't last but a couple of days. Hope that helps.

One way to tell if it's pink eye is to see if it's contagious. My nephew had it and both my foster sons and I got it.

My ped said it could be an ear infection which I found out was true with Georgia. We couldn't get rid of the "gunk" and both ears were infected. Are both eyes gunky? My ped said if it's a blocked tear duct, then it's generally just one eye, not both.
Hope it's better soon! Last edited by momofmykids : 04-10-2006 at 09:52 AM. |
