adoptive Parental Rights

hey,

My girlfriends parents have adopted a girl who has been with them for 15 years and now her real mother keeps calling looking to see the girl. What I want to know is what rights do my girlfriends parents have in this situation? They have been given adoption by a court of law and the judge said the birth mother was unfit to be a mother. Now she is calling their house everyday looking to know if she can speak with her and requesting that she visits the house. She once trhreated them by saying i know where you live and I can visit anytime. This same woman made her othe rdaughter have a miscarriage and the other daughter has since left her and taken nothing to do with her. Now she thinks because the other daughter is gone she will get another one to try and ruin her life.

So if anybody knows what rights her adoptive parents have please let me know. We live in the United Kingdom so laws will be different than they are in the US. Any help will be appreciated.

regards,

Dee

Her adoptive parents are her parents and should do whatever any parent would do to protect their child from this kind of situation.
Maybe they could try and work out some sort of visitation that suits everyone. The girl is 15 now though so it should be mainly up to her whether or not she wants to see her birth mother.
Good luck.
