Who did you get your 800 number through? Thanks for your time.

We went through our phone carrier.. Verizon. It's worked out well. We didn't want to do this at first, and are glad that we did.

It's fairly easy. Just call your phone carrier. Tell them you want an 800#(I use verizon) You will get a regular local # and for about $4.00 extra they add on the 800#. Of course it's different depending on what package, cost wise. But we pay the $4.00 monthly charge and 5 cents each minute used. Trust me, don't make the same mistake we did the first time. Pay the extra monthly charge instead of a low or no monthy charge and like 25 cents each minute. That adds up..quickly!

Our carrier was way too much, so we opted to go with Kall8. You can get to them by using the same name in an internet address format and you can chose your #, plus you can chose to have it ring on your home phone, your cell phone, or other phone, and you can also see what calls have come through. We spend $2 per month, plus .07 cents per minute, I think, for calls.

Anyone who has AT&T long distance automatically has a 1-800 number with a code. There is no monthly fee and it worked out great. The funny thing is, we did not find this out until we talked to the 5th person there, LOL.

We also used our local phone company.

I wanted to say too incase you hadn't thought about it, our agency that we used stressed how important it was for us to have call forwarding and to be sure we were always accessible. So whenever I left the house I always forwarded our phone to my cell. I can't tell you how many times they called while I wasn't home. Thankfully I forwarded.

We used a Chain office supply store, they seemed to have the best price. Good Luck!
