No teeth yet!!!

Ok, I need some reassurance here. Drihan is almost 11 mo. old and still has NO teeth! Not even a swollen gum or trace. Has anyone else had a late bloomer with teeth?

James got his first tooth 2 days after their 1st birthday. Andrew got his 1 week before they turned 15 months old.

I asked the pediatrician about it at their 1 year checkup, she assured me that as late as 18 months was normal, and that she had never yet had to fit a baby/toddler with dentures!

And, from everything I've heard and read, late teethers have healthier teeth!

Patrick is the same way! No teeth and 8 months old. No sign of anything coming. I feel so bad for him because I stick my hands in there at least once a day and dig around. I check all the way to the back thinking maybe he will get molars first. Guess I could stop torturing him and just be patient.

My cousin's daughter was 18 months old before she got her first tooth. The ped said it was no big deal. I wouldn't worry.

My DD only has two teeth and she is 8 months old. DH is really worried and even asked the Pediatrician about it. The pediatrician said it was nothing to worry about and it's actually better for the teeth to come in later. Baby teeth will remain in better condition if they come in later. Our little boy is 9 months old and has 10 teeth. He really wants us to know he's ready for big people food. If I see one more hand in my plate...

DD was just shy of a year when her first tooth arrived. Five months later, they're coming in like gangbusters. There are now five teeth and I can feel another one or two on the way.

Thanks, I feel better now. DH says she is too busy learning words and trying to walk so she isn't putting effort into teeth *LOL*

My oldest DD didn't get her first tooth until 14 1/2 months. From there is was one at a time a month apart for the first 4. DS got his first one a week after his first b-day. Then our littlest chucklehead got her first a 5 mos and had three more in by 6 months. I've never seen anyone start school without getting teeth first...LOL

My oldest didn't get his first tooth till 12 months. The doctor gave me the same line about no babies needing dentures, LOL. Of course then he didn't loose his first tooth till he was 7. Now he is almost 13 and waiting for the last baby teeth to fall out so he can get braces.

Like you, I panicked when our first baby (dd) didn't get any teeth around the 'average time'. I went to the pediatrician and asked, "When should I be concerned?"
He replied, "When she's about 60yrs old!"

DD didn't get her first tooth until she was 13 months old. She's now in her twentites and has all of them!!! LOL!

Sincerely,

Linny

the only problem you may have with late teethers is that all the teeth seem to come in at once, making for one very cranky child! dd never had a problem with teeth until her molars-imagine 4 molars coming in at once plus two other teeth! ouch! her gums even bled when brushed they were so sore.

much like pacifiers, they eventually reach their milestones. I was convinced dd would be walking down the aisle at age 30 with a pacifier clipped to her wedding dress, lol. don't worry, your dd will get her teeth .

Was Drihan born prematurely? Babies born early tend to teeth later. My sister didnt have teeth at that age either and now she's 26 with beautiful teeth

My son's first tooth came at 16 months old. He is 22 months and still only has 7 teeth. Dentist and ped all say NO BIG DEAL!
