OT: car seat accessories
i have a britax roundabout for dd (age 18 months) and i want to buy a tray and assorted accessories. I found one tray on line, a Taby tray. does anyone know if it fits the roundabout? anyone have it?
I'm also looking for some sort of strap to keep dd's sippy cups attached, something like a binky cord, that will go on the sippy and attach it to the car seat. also wondering if there are any other exciting accessories that we absolutely need . Thanks, lisa

Hm, you got my attention. I looked up the tray, not sure if I would use it, mainly because I can't imagine letting babe draw in the car and babe eats pretty well from small Tupperware cups, don't see much other reason for the tray. My other concern is safety, it's a large, hard plastic object strapped to the seat, gives me pause.
However... while browsing I came across the Side Rider, small clip on baskets (saddle bags) for holding sippy cups, toys etc. One Step Ahead has both the tray with suggestions for what seat it will and won't fit on to, and they also carry the Side Rider.

Try Ebay
Quote:
Overseas they sell what your looking for but you can only get it through ebay. I think it will run you about 35.00 and it will fit only the roundabout. The ones that they sell here don't clip on good and are big and weigh alot so make sure you get the real thing. They are great as the kids can eat off of them and color and play etc. God Bless, Summer

thanks. dd definitely needs entertainment in the car seat. since we're in los angeles, the traffic can be awesome at points. she's always hated the car seat and I'm hoping she'll want to sit in it longer because she can color or whatever.

I know what you mean about horrible traffic, but the idea of the thing being strapped to the seat and becomming a projectile in an accident, not to mention it could break and be a sharp projectile, bothers me. While browsing last night I came across another tray called the Kids Snack & Play Travel Tray by Star Kids. Here's a description:
"Snack & Play Travel Tray was created out of necessity for today's children, and enhances the driving experience by providing a flat, safe area for children to eat and play. Made of soft, durable, 100% Nylon with soft foam reinforcement that folds on impact. It buckles either around the child, car seat, stroller, etc. Features two side pockets and a 2 inch wall to stop toys, food, etc from falling off the tray. " Do you have a small DoodlePro for in the car? This has been a life saver for us. There are two sizes of travel DoodlePros, the smallest is light and easy for little hands to manipulate in a car seat, plus is great at restaurants.

see, this is why I ask you guys about this stuff! thanks for the referral. I'll check it out.
dd has a full library in the back seat, as well as a small doodle pro. But I think a tray of sorts would be helpful while she tries to entertain herself. what happens is that the book or whatever goes flying while she drinks or eats, then screams because she can't reach the book, but neither can I because I'm driving and it's wedged behind me...ugh. I'm hoping that a tray will encourage her to set her book down on the tray, let her drink, then go back to the book on the tray-fingers crossed. thanks!

Fisher price makes a pad that goes under the carseat but comes with a toy chest that attaches to it, you can store toys in it and two sippy cups! My friend has it, but also has the roundabout tray! Look into that also, she can get her own juice and toys out
