Please Pray For Us!

My dh desperately needs your prayers. (This forum has supported me through SO MUCH... I need your support 1 more time!)

On Friday morning my 43 yr old healthy dh collapsed from a ruptured artery in his brain. He sustained serious bleeding in his brain. He underwent surgery to repair. Friday evening he was given only a few % chance of survival. BUT it's Monday and he's still with us. Each day has brought improvement but his situation is very fragile. Each procedure and medication brings it's set of risks to his already vulnerable condition. And we are far from knowing what type of damage may be short term or permanent. It may be a long time before that question is answered.

Dh is such a fighter and the worlds biggest optimist. Even the progess he has made thus far has been called a "miracle" by his neurosurgeon. After 13 yrs of marriage I am clinging hard to the optimism I have experienced with dh. Trying desperately to stay hopeful.

For those who don't know me, dh and I have a son "J" through domestic adoption. He's been with us from day one and turned 8 mos old on Friday. It escapes comprehension why the dear Lord brought our little family together and now so soon we are faced with this trauma. But I pray daily for his strength to sustain us.

Dh and I run our own business, but I took a back seat when we brought home J. I am now suddenly thrust into running this business alone. While I have much love and support from family and friends, I am also very scared. I never imagined I would experience this level of such immense responsibility for the care and future of my little family.

In anticipation of our first Christmas with J we were so excited and our home reflects our excitement. Only days to Christmas it breaks my heart to see dh's "DAD" stocking with little gifts I bought for J to give his daddy. And at weak moments of fear I wonder when and if those presents will ever be opened.

I truly believe the progress dh has made so far has come from the many prayers already sent up on his behalf. He has given much of himself to others in his life and is dearly loved by masses of people. People who know him are deeply affected by this trajedy. I am asking for everyone to pray and if you are associated with "prayer groups" to please ask those groups to pray for us.

For those of you with whom I correspond via emails and pms. I wish I had the time/opportunity to speak with you one on one. But it will be some time before that is possible. Just know that "I know" I will be in your thoughts and prayers.

Lori

Peace and strength to you all. I am so very sorry, but so very very glad to know he has already surpassed the doctor's predictions. I hope you have support, and that other family can help with the business day to day so you can give your focus to your husband and child.
