GREAT News!

We took Faith to the Feeding Dr today.. She is now up to 18lbs 4ozs. She has gained a bit over 2lbs in the month we have had her. Her feeding team is giving DH and I a 2 week trail without the NG tube. She is eating better.. granted we had to go bad to the Stage 3 baby food for the biggest part of her feeding..BUT, at least she is eating. She is still below the chart for her age..however, Giving that she was born 4 months early.. if you take that into consideration, she is right on target.

Her feeding is NOT any easier now that she is off the tube. In fact, it is a bit harder, because now we have to MAKE her eat more and try to make up the calories she is missing from the feed. I tell everyone I love her Diet.. she eats things I want but can't have because it causes weight gain.. lmao

She is going through the TERRIBLE 2's..at only 20 months old..but that just shows me that she is a normal child. She loves to test ya. ALL the time.. and they thought she had autism.. HA!

We have a meeting Friday with the caseworkers, her parents (maybe) and the review board. Her birth parents STILL have not made contact to visit with her. (haven't seen her since August). This is to see where things stand with the parents.. pretty much giving them a "last chance" before TPR is filed in Jan. I have a deep feeling that after Friday they will want to see her.. Who knows. I just wish we could get this all over with and move on.

MuSuMom, I have been thinking of you often and wondering how things are going with Faith. Hopefully she is great, the transition is going well and the feeding tube is gone. Sending thoughts your way. Hope to see you here soon.

Great news! I remember the pressure to get the calories in with DD. Some of the things we did would make people's head spins. I am just now loosing the 40 pounds I put on trying to fatten her up. SHe's 7 PM me if you want some tricks.

Hope the meeting with the group goes well. Sounds like bparents may not even show if they keep to their pattern.

Great job!

Jen

Faith is doing GREAT! She is almost 20lbs. We are only seeing the Feeding Team every 3 months now. She is talking more and now walking.

Her eating has gotten better, she is now eating almost everything we give her. Although, we are having issues with her making herself gag (and sometimes making herself vomit)..we are working through them, but still she is eating.

She had a visit with her ** back in Jan. The ** then said she wanted to make an appointment to see her again, 2 weeks later, but never followed through. Faith was a mess when she returned! Behavior wise and cleanliness. (Face dirty from them "trying" to feed her and a full disper). It took us almost 2 weeks to undo a 1 1/2 hr visit. Thankfully we have not heard from ** again. We think the only reason she wanted to see Faith was because she had a visit with the other children. Her CS, said she pretty much cried the entire time.

I was so mad that the ** tried to feed her. With Faith having eating issues, we have to count everything she takes in and she has certain things at certain times. I sent a snack with her that I counted the calories/carbs/fats on and they sent it back.. instead they gave her all sorts of cookies, crackers and noodles. She came home with the same # if diapers I sent and her diaper was "fully loaded" when she returned. CS said the ** was "scared to change her because Faith wouldn't let her get close to her". (rolls eyes.. she DOESN"T KNOW HER!)

Anway, the process for TPR began the 1st of FEB. We still do NOT have a court date. It is so hard to get into the courts here for TPR's. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

She is also seeing a behavior specialist because of issues with her hair pulling, biting herself, pinching herself and the gagging issues. (Which are all behavior issues according to Early Intervention, which we HAVE to have at this time). Anyway, thankfully the BS has written a letter stating that if there should be any more visits with ** that she has to stay within certain terms. (no feeding unless she gives what is sent, change diaper and visits need to be within a certain time frame.). The visit she had was after 4pm and ran into dinner time.. BIG NO NO with Faith.. as she needs to stick as close to routine as possible.

Anyway, now that I have written a book.. I appreciate you asking.
Thanks!
~Jessie

Jesse, What wonderful news. I am sorry that the visit caused a bit of a setback. I am so happy that she is doing so well, eating and thriving. Says a lot about you and her transition. Hopefully your wait for a court date will not be much longer.

I hope that you have great success with redirecting/replacing the self injurious behavior with something else. And how has your daughter adjusted to being a big sister?

Thanks for the update. Take care of all of you.
