OT: Harry Potter opens tomorrow!

Ok, I know it is nerdy but who already has tickets for "The Goblet of Fire"? Rachel and I are going at 11:59 tonight (first showing in LA). We have seen the first midnight show of all of them since the first when the openning fell on her birthday and every other show was sold out. Heck even most of the midnight shows were sold out but we drove down to PV (20 miles) to find that one. She had so much fun she wanted to do it the same way the next year. She can't claim to be the first to see it because with so many folks around here who work in the industry alot of her friends actually go to the preimeres (a few even fly to London for the, hate them). Anyway I will go to bed tonight and get up about 11:30, Rachel will stay up doing homework after synchro practice. What has become of me, instead of looking forward so some new club openning I stay up for a kid's movie

BTW Rachel turned 14this week

We are having our son's 8th birthday at the movies to watch....you guessed it "Harry Potter".

Almost $15 per child....wow.

They will have a great time though.

You're not alone, though DH and I will be going without DS DS is way too young to sit still and reviews say that this one is PG-13 for a reason (supposed to be kinda scary/morbid, like the book).

BTW - your daughter is GORGEOUS!!!

Bought our tickets yesterday morning for the Saturday matinee. Lined up the babysitter back in September so I KNEW we'd be able to go. (And then double-triple-quadruple-checked every week thereafter to make sure she was still good to go LOL.) Unfortunately, neither DH nor the sitter were willing to go along with the 12:01 show tonight, sob sob...... Lisa, enjoy it!! And your DD is absolutely gorgeous, too!

We were supposed to go this weekend as it's our anniversary, but now J and H have the chicken pox so I don't know if my mom will still watch them. And even if she will, I don't know if I want to leave 2 sick kids.

Maybe in a couple of weeks we'll try again. Bummer too, cause I was really looking forward to this one. It's my favorite of the novels.

Can't wait to see it but I don't have my tickets yet. I am planning on going on Sat and probably by myself.

Just 4 hours to go!!

My dh picked up our tickets for the midnight show tonight. Works out great for us since there is no school in our area tomorrow.
Enjoy your popcorn and can't wait to hear the reviews.

Just got in from the midnite showing...

it was really awesome! The best one yet, I think...

I would say VERY SCARY/INTENSE in the last thirty minutes (and really even in the first 30 minutes)... I would advise parents to at least preview it without the kiddos under ten before taking them, or to wait for the DVD, as it is majorly intense on that huge screen. And certainly, if you have not read the book (and your kids haven't either), don't take your kids who haven't read the book to the movie. It is a totally different deal from the 1st two movies. (The 3rd one was already starting to get more serious).

DH and I knew we would go this weekend, but on a whim we decided to do the midnite show... I felt so OLD -- the entire audience seemed to be in the 16-23 y.o. range. I guess this was one of those moments we are supposed to be savoring before we get our referral!

Well, I am about to fall into bed!

D.

I know! My dd recognized some kids from her school. It was definately a "young crowd" but on that was enthusiastic even for the ptreviews. The new "Narnia" movie got the biggest cheers. I guess kids do still read. BTW I loved it, it is definately not a movie for under 10's even dd was scared. And the dragon scene....WOW!

Lisa, I am so excited about Narnia. How did the preview look, okay for a really really mature young one?

Narnia looks really well made but again a little intense. When I first saw the bill board a few months ago I got out an old copy of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" and read it to Sam and Miranda. Sam LOVED it and now can't wait to see the movie but I am now wondering if he SHOULD see the movie.
