Going on a visit - continued

Hi All,
I couldn't find my original thread here but just wanted to give an update.

I bought my plane ticket and will be visiting mid Nov. The wonderful Brandy will be there for support WooHoooo!! So I won't be alone. I am staying over just one night - I called bmom thismorning to tell her I got my ticket and she was SO EXCITED!!!!

I'm really hoping this goes well. If it does, we were thinking, maybe a yearly visit would be a good thing for everyone. My 12 year old is having a really hard time with it - still trying to figure out exctly why but she's just really protective of her baby sister.

I'm not wild about flying by myself with a one year old but we're going!

Martha

sounds great!

your 12 yr old may just be concerned that somehow addy won't return. Look, my inlaws can't wrap their heads around this open adoption stuff and freak every time we mention dd's bfamily. The fact that we went to visit bfamilies for a week drove them insane. No matter how often I explain how this works, they still think bfamilies will kidnap dd . My guess would be that she's trying to work her head around the visit and what it means for your family. Even though part of her may accept what you say about adoption being final, there may be that nagging part that doesn't buy it.

hope you have a great time ,

Lisa
