SSN question
We adopted our son late last year as an infant, but did not finalize until this past March. I still have not gotten him a SSN. Can anyone help me understand what the process is?
We do not live close to an office, so I am trying to do this by mail. I am not stupid, but the form is confusing. Any help would be apprecaited. Bluemommy

Ssn
Often the SSN issuance in an adoption is completed with the finalization/decree papers by your attorney and can sometimes take a couple months to issue ... before going any further, you may wish to check with the attorney and verify they haven't (or should have) applied for same.
