Destructo Baby!!!!!!!
Addy has figured out how to open every drawer, shred any paper, unload any cupboard, scatter any pile of anything all in seconds flat. My house is a disaster unless I follow her around and clean up her path.
If I keep her penned in the family room with the gate, she gets bored and pissed and shrieks at the gate. We have had 300 inches of rain in the last week so going outside is a soggy proposition. If I wasn't so exhausted, it would be quite amusing. We have a big house and 5 kids and I'm not exactly a neat freak so there are lots of things to get in to. I'd buy some calgon to take me away but she'd dump it out and eat it. HELP Martha PS oh and one of her favorite projects is moving the pieces of dog food into the water bowl to watch them expand - such fun. |

Ohhh Martha, I HEAR YA! Out of the seven.....four have been baby adoptions....and our youngest is BY FAR the most 'into-everything and climbing everything' child we have ever HAD!
I call her my 'Willenda-baby' (like the trapeez artists)...because she climbs, pulls down, investigates, plugs-in and unplugs EVERYTHING (forget those little plug-in thingys that are supposed to keep kids from outlets---she can take them out.) She's been a challenge.......and it seems that even when I DO take her out...she remains just as inquisitive and persistent. (NOTHING seems to keep her from doing these things again and again.....(whew).) I can give no suggestions...except that I think I know exactly what you're going through!!!!!!!!! Sincerely, Linny |

Yep, DS is like a tornado racing through the house. He likes to pull everything out of the cabinets, opens up boxes, open drawers, etc He has just caught on to how much fun it is to feed the dogs, so they are quite happy, while I sit wondering how to get DS to eat his own food!

We've been lucky. No problems here with flooding, we're on high ground but others in our state haven't been nearly as lucky. Lots without power or phone and several displaced and some deaths. Guess I shouldn't be so whiney about my little indoor tornado
She is sleeping now and I'm on my second cup of coffee so I'm in my happy place. AND I actually finished my stupid theory class last night so I guess I got my $1300 worth. I don't have to worry about any more higher learning until January. I can just continue to excel at laundry and toddler containment for now. Martha |

Well it's not just the girls. Nathan has discovered stairs. He can now climb the two from the family room to Kitchen....Two words...DOG FOOD. He is obsessed with the puppy food. He eats it, splashes the water, puts dog food in the water...he is number six for us and the most curious. He is our last so I am more tolerant but boy is he curious at 10 months. (on monday). I hear ya ladies....

No advice from me either - just wanted to say I feel your pain. My 15 month old daughter is a WRECKER!! Love the bit about the dog food - mine is no longer amused by the growing cat food, she has moved on to washing her hands in the water bowl.........and might I add, she is just Oh, So proud of herself when she is done!

No advise here either... please anyone w/ a tranquilizer gun... shoot ME in the butt w/ it.
My dd which is 20 mo. old ate her own poop the other day!!! I was hysterical... I called the dr on call and he laughed at me. He said it was not an emergency but to just watch her for a couple of things. I was convinced she was going to be in ICU or something!!! She climbed in the dryer the other day w/ fruit loops and a banana... AND my clean clothes!!! She jumps off the kitchen table and the back of the couch & says whee... She can climb on top of her changing table and throw every wipe on there on the floor. Climbs out of her crib ... early in the morning and reek havoc on my house. Oh, toddlers... ![]()
